Owned and managed by husband and wife innkeepers, Bill and Nell Fay, the elegant five guestroom log home is as beautiful and inviting as its backdrop, the legendary Grand Teton mountain range."We skied here for many years on vacation and felt the specialness of the valley and its people" states Bill Fay. "Jackson Hole is spectacularly beautiful and has everything outdoor enthusiasts, like Nell and I, crave. We love the fly fishing, hiking, river rafting, golf and skiing here. We think this valley is heaven on Earth, so we moved here, built our log home and made it a bed and breakfast for visitors like us to enjoy." Open year-round, Bentwood Inn offers guests all the comforts of home. Whether it be sipping from a hot glass of gluvine after a day of fantastic skiing, relaxing in your personal whirlpool bathtub, or reading a book next to the 30 feet high river rock fireplace, Bentwood Inn offers only the very finest in amenities. Holidays are also a special treat at Bentwood Inn, where the tantalizing aroma of turkey with stuffing wafts through the house at Thanksgiving, and at Christmas, guests' stockings are hung by the chimney with care. Convenient Location Bentwood Inn is ideally located on the quiet side of the Snake River, which is across the road from the Inn. You will only be minutes from the renowned Jackson Hole Mountain Resort in Teton Village. Located just up the road is the entrance to Grand Teton National Park and excellent upscale restaurants. The Inn is also located a few minutes from galleries, museums and stores surrounding the Jackson Town Square and the airport is a short 20 minute drive. Bentwood Inn offers a luxurious, relaxing respite in one of the most scenic locations in the world, while proprietors Bill and Nell Fay, make their guests' travel experience a memorable one with their graciousness and warm hospitality. Sumptuous Surroundings The 5,800 square-foot home, built in 1995, is entirely composed of huge pine logs, many salvaged from the great Yellowstone fire of 1988. The open, slate entry leads into a massive, three-story living area, the Wyoming Room, that features a floor to ceiling river rock fireplace. Fine English antiques blend delightfully with Zapotec weavings and denim upholstery. A baby grand piano awaits entertaining guests' fingers. Even the cozy library is stocked with classics, and area maps and guides for browsing. The warm and inviting dining room, with hand-painted tables and cheerfully eclectic English/Western decor, is through wide doors to the left of the Wyoming Room. Artfully mismatched china and linens greet guests for breakfast, and a granite-topped bar opening into the gourmet kitchen allows guests to chat with Nell as she bakes muffins prepares the morning entree. Your Home Away From Home Open year-round, Bentwood offers guests all the comforts of home. Whether it be sipping from a hot glass of gluvine after a day of fantastic skiing, relaxing in your personal whirlpool bathtub, or reading a book next to the 30' river rock fireplace, Bentwood offers only the very finest in amenities. Holidays are also a special treat at Bentwood, where the tantalizing aroma of turkey with stuffing wafts through the house at Thanksgiving, and at Christmas, guests' stockings are hung by the chimney with care. Bountiful Homemade Breakfasts Each morning, Bentwood's guests awake to the ending scent of fresh baked muffins and fresh ground coffee. A robust breakfast is served with a different entrée each day, such as German Apple Pancakes, Huevos Rancheros, or Egg Soufflé, all accompanied by country ham or bacon, fresh fruit, fresh squeezed orange juice, cereal, muffins, and yogurt. Special dietary needs can be accommodated. Amenities: COWBOY ROOM: This king or twin-sized bedroom is on the first floor and has a private entrance and parking space. Through a bay window seat, guests have woodland views with an east exposure. Having three log walls makes this room feel like a small cabin rich in cowboy motifs and made complete with a tin work mirror above the bureau. The gracious private bathroom (handicapped accessible) carries out the cowboy theme with the colorful tattersall plaid pattern tile work reminiscent of a typical cowboy shirt. The down-filled comforters have a "home on the range" printed duvet. The Cowboy Room is handicapped accessible (Winter $215 / Summer $255) WILDFLOWER ROOM: A four-poster queen-sized bed is the focal point of this first-floor room. Looking through the bay window toward the mountains to the west, you may see Moose camped out in the willows and cottonwoods. A wildflower theme is echoed in both fabric and artwork. The handsomely tiled private bathroom has a jacuzzi bath/shower. An outside entrance leads to a private deck. RALPH'S ROOM: Ralph Lauren inspired this king or twin-sized bedroom on the second floor. A red plaid chair and dust ruffle, and sporting gear used in this area, lend themselves to a more masculine feel. A writing desk has been painted with a cutthroat trout indigenous to the streams and rivers of Jackson Hole. Through a bay window seat, guests have woodland views with an east exposure. The private bathroom, complete with Jacuzzi bathtub/shower fits neatly under the eaves of the house. The balcony allows guests to enjoy the weather of the day. THE GLORY BOWL ROOM: Sunsets fill this second-floor room along with a broad view of Glory Bowl on Teton Pass. Ceremonial pipes are painted above the doorways and Indian motifs give this room tranquility. A puffy down-filled duvet with a pastel geometric Indian design covers a king-sized brass bed. A private bathroom Jacuzzi bathtub/shower continues the Indian theme. The large balcony overlooks the main deck of the house and is the perfect venue for the bride to throw her bouquet. THE BUNKHOUSE ROOM: On the second-floor, this room is decorated after the Iglenook beds of Scandinavia without a bunk bed in sight! English antiques give this room a European flavor. A queen alcove bed is tucked between massive log walls situated opposite a large sitting area. Access to the third story loft's three single beds is by log ladder. The bathroom has a Jacuzzi whirlpool bathtub and a separate large tiled shower. A large shaded balcony overlooks willows and cottonwoods. This is Bentwood's largest suite - perfect for a family and a favorite for honeymooners. Activities: Activities and Excursions
Jackson Hole offers an abundance of activities and excursions year-round. In the Winter, guests can enjoy skiing at one of three ski areas surrounding Jackson, snowmobiling with a guide in Yellowstone or other wilderness areas, or cross-country skiing in the wildlife-abundant valley. Sled dog excursions have also become very popular as a daily diversion.
Summertime in Jackson Hole brings warm sunshine and endless outdoor activities: hiking in the Tetons or Yellowstone Park, horseback riding and covered wagon outings, canoeing, whitewater rafting, fly fishing, and kayaking on the winding Snake River. There are two championship 18-hole golf courses and numerous tennis courts for the more traditional sports enthusiast.
Weddings / Receptions
The Inn has garnered a great reputation for events with wedding receptions a specialty. Each wedding is treated with undivided attention...whether it is a group of two or two hundred. Please take a moment to look at our wedding gallery and contact Nell to discuss your individual needs.
Corporate Retreats
Bentwood is an ideal location for small executive retreats. Groups can make the dining room their own, using it for meetings and meal times. Breakaway groups can then utilize the rest of the Inn.
