Poison Creek Cottage Description: Poison Creek Cottage is a lovingly restored 1890's miner's home with the beautiful Wasatch Mountains as a backdrop, and all of Park City and its recreational opportunities immediately available.
Additional Information: Located near the top of historic Main Street, the two-bedroom, one bath Poison Creek Cottage has been completely refurbished with all the modern conveniences, while retaining many of the original doors, glass and hardware. It is a cottage full of history. A mining family of nine lived in it during Park City's silver mining heyday. But the boom days did not last, and Park City declined when silver prices plummeted. Main Street was boarded up. Buildings could be purchased for the back taxes that were owing. In effect, Park City become a ghost town. Those same buildings now sell for millions of dollars because a different kind of wealth was gleaned from the mountains: perfect powder snow! Today, Park City is recognized as one of the world's top destination ski resorts. Every year, over 350 inches of snow blanket the surrounding mountains. And in 2002, the Winter Olympics took place here.
Activities: Poison Creek Cottage offers high luxury and ready access to three nearby ski areas: Deer Valley, Park City Mountain Resort and The Canyons (the farthest is only 3.4 miles away). Whether you come for the snow in winter, or the tranquility and beauty of summer, Poison Creek Cottage is a wonderful place to stay.
