1904 Imperial Hotel, Bed and Breakfast Description: Constructed in 1904, the Imperial Hotel is one of only five existing boarding houses remaining from Park City's golden mining days. Staying at the Imperial Hotel will make you part of its colorful 95+ year history of guests, all of whom have enjoyed the warm, personal turn-of-the-century hospitality which the Imperial Hotel has always offerred. Additional Information: After its stint as a 1920's house of ill repute and a 1940 fire that nearly destroyed the building, the 1904 Imperial Hotel was lovingly restored in 1987 to all its original glory, and then some. The architecture of this Victorian treasure has survived the decades, and as a result the Imperial Hotel is listed in the National Register of Historic Landmarks. Today, the 1904 Imperial Hotel is where to stay if you want to mine all the fun of this famed resort town.Walk out our front door and onto Park City's Historic Main Street. There, you'll find a dizzying array of picturesque restaurants, shops, and nightlife housed in charming historic buildings. For your convenience, the Main Street Trolley stops right in front of the 1904 Imperial Hotel. Park City has become a world-class winter destination and is the site for nearly half of the 2002 Winter Olympic Game events. Park City Mountain Resort, Deer Valley Resort, The Canyons, and the Utah Winter Sports Park are only minutes away. Snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing options are plentiful. Spring, summer, and fall at the Imperial Hotel are filled with high-altitude tennis, championship golf, hiking, bicycling, horseback riding, and water sports at nearby reservoirs. And don't miss any of Park City's large array of festivals and outdoor concerts. Spend some time in our front parlor, with its Victorian-style couches and chairs, and windows overlooking Main Street. During the winter, it's a great place to relax after a day on the world's finest slopes. Curl up by the fireplace on a frosty morning or compare aprés ski stories with the inn's other guests. In the warmer months, our front porch is a popular spot to relax and watch life go by in downtown Park City. No matter the season, you'll appreciate our old-fashioned hearty breakfasts. Enjoy apple-granola pancakes with homemade syrups, eggs Lizzie, or country breakfast. Juices, meats and fresh fruits are always included. Or if you really want to get away from it all, you can simply retire to one of our 10 rooms, each more charming and unique than the last, and each with its own private bath. Amenities: Each of our 10 rooms is named after a different local silver mine and has its own personality. Some overlook Historic Main Street; others have secluded, shady views. Several have sitting areas. The Anchor room even features a loft and spiral staircase. The inn is furnished with period antiques, while the wallpapers and color schemes harken back to a bygone era.And we didn't forget the extra touches that make our guests feel at home. For our guests' comfort, we have robes for you to wear during your stay and all of our beds feature fluffy down comforters and pillows. Each room has its own bathroom, many with large Roman tubs (a large, deep oval tub that is great for soaking). Guests also appreciate the direct-dial telephones and a color cable television in every room. |
