The Mayor's House Bed and Breakfast Description: Welcome to the Mayor's House Bed and Breakfast, located in the heart of beautiful Canyonlands, Utah. The Mayor's House is one of the most comfortable and friendly B&Bs in the Moab Valley.
Additional Information: The house was built in 1980; it is a rambling 6000 square-foot home featuring a large common room, six guest rooms, and spacious decks overlooking beautiful landscaped gardens. The B&B also features a large, heated swimming pool and hot tub.Use us as your home base to explore beautiful national and state parks, spectacular canyons, rugged mountains and breathtaking vistas. Let the staff at the Mayor's House help you plan your itinerary to take advantage of the many recreational activities available here in the heart of red rock country. Let the Mayor's House Bed and Breakfast be your oasis amid the spectacular red rock country of Canyonlands. Spend the afternoon by the large, heated swimming pool or in the invigorating hot tub looking out over the Moab Valley with its towering red rock formations and the spectacular Moab Rim. Or, if you prefer a more private setting, find a comfortable spot to sit in the sunken garden, where the canopy of jade-green leaves provides a shelter from the hot Southwestern sun. The Mayor's House was built in the 1980s by Tom Stocks, the former Mayor of Moab, and his wife, Gay. The interior of the B&B has a warm family appeal and is comfortably furnished in the Southwestern style with locally handcrafted furniture. The 16-foot long Western-style breakfast table seats 16, allowing guests to mingle and become friends with people from all over the country and the world. Guest rooms are individually decorated to reflect the many cultures of the Southwest. Miner's Room This is the smallest room available at the B&B and features a queen-size bed, TV and VCR, and a private bathroom with shower. The walls are decorated with artworks from local artists, featuring the flute player Kokopelli, and desert sandstone vistas. The Miner's room is located on the main floor of the house. Country Room This room features a queen-size sleigh bed of cherrywood. The room is decorated with an elegant country look. The private bath features a large tub, perfect for soaking. The Country Room is located on the main floor of the house. Master Suite This spacious room is furnished with a one-of-a-kind handcrafted king-size bed and a single daybed, which was created by a local artist using timber harvested from the nearby La Sal Mountains. The walls display Native American handcrafted artifacts and Native American prints. The room features a large walk-in closet, a dressing area with large counter-to-ceiling mirrors, and a private bathroom with an oval tub. A TV with VCR and DVD player is provided. The room has its own private entrance off the main deck overlooking the sunken gardens in the back of the property; a small table and chairs and a small refrigerator are provided at this end of the deck for the exclusive use of the occupants. The room can accommodate up to three adults comfortably, with a $15 per person fee above double occupancy. The Master Suite is located on the main floor of the house. Indian Room The Indian Room is located on the garden level of the house, and features a queen-size bed, TV and VCR. The room has its own private bath with jetted tub. Peach Room The soft colors of the Peach room invite you to a good night's sleep in one of two queen-size beds. The room features TV and VCR, a private bath with jetted tub, and a separate shower. This room can accommodate up to four adults, with a $15 per person fee above double occupancy. The Peach Room is located on the garden level of the house. Bunkhouse This 1100 square-foot room is one of the best bargains in Moab, offering four queen-size log beds, with two additional log futon beds. The room features a large-screen TV with VCR and DVD player, a small efficiency kitchen with microwave, and a wet bar with seating for six. The Bunkhouse is perfect for families or larger groups, as it allows plenty of room to spread out in. This room is usually booked several months in advance in the spring and fall, so book it early. The room features a large double shower and a private bath; a second bathroom with shower is available for bookings in excess of six persons. The Bunkhouse is located on the garden level. Amenities: Telephone service is available during your stay with us. A calling card is required for all outgoing long-distance calls. If family and friends will be making calls to reach you at the B&B, please provide them with the following number: 435 259-6015.The B&B can provide Internet service for short periods of time for guests to check their e-mail. With the proper set-up for laptop computers, and upon prior approval by the B&B staff, it may be possible to access the Internet using the phone jacks located in the individual guest rooms. If you need to access the Internet for extended periods of time during your stay in Moab, you should plan to use one of the local Internet cafes, or the public library. A BBQ grill and a picnic table are available for use by guests, as well as numerous chaise longues around the pool deck.
The B&B is within a few minutes walk from Moab's central
business district, but well away from the noise and congestion
of downtown. The B&B is also situated close to the Slickrock Bike
Trail, 10 minutes from the entrance to Arches National Park,
and 30 minutes from the entrance to Canyonlands National Park.
Many bike trails, hiking trails, and jeep trails are all
within a short distance of the B&B.
The pool also features a lap lane for those active people who
desire this additional exercise option before or after a full day
