Sun Valley Resort Description: Since 1936, the Sun Valley Lodge has welcomed visitors with elegant amenities and old world charm. But what keeps guests coming back is the congenial smile that greets you no matter where you stay. From cozy cottages to three-bedroom condominiums, you’ll find it all in Sun Valley. And the centric arrangement of the Village puts shopping, entertainment and dining just a short stroll from your door.Additional Information: SUN VALLEY LODGEBuilt in 1936, the historical Sun Valley Lodge's elegance from another time lives on. Recently redecorated, Averell Harriman's interpretation of "roughing it in luxury" remains steadfast. Enjoy upscale accommodations and fine dining in a majestic four-story hotel while your camera captures the beautiful and breathtaking view of the surrounding mountain range. Each of the Lodge's 148 rooms features French country interiors and furnishings, marble appointed bathrooms and large-screen televisions. Other services and amenities offered in the Lodge include: The Lodge Dining Room, Gretchen's, the Duchin Lounge, Sun Valley Salon & Day Spa, massage center, sauna and heated swimming pool, workout facility, bowling alley, game room, room service and gift shop. Standard Room The Sun Valley Lodge offers 23 Lodge Standard rooms. Each features one queen bed, a marble bath, a 31" television and handmade solid oak French furnishings. The Lodge Standard room is the smallest and least expensive option. Medium Room One may choose from two different Lodge Medium rooms. The first is a Lodge Medium featuring one king bed. This room is slightly larger than the Lodge Standard room and there are 52 of them in the Lodge. The second of the Lodge Medium type rooms offers two double beds and is slightly larger than the Lodge Medium king room. There are a total of 20 of these rooms. In either Lodge Medium room, one can enjoy a marble bath, 31" television and handmade solid oak French furnishings. Deluxe Room The Sun Valley Lodge offers two different Lodge Deluxe rooms. The first Lodge Deluxe option features one king bed, a marble bath, 31" television, handmade solid oak French furnishings and many have a sitting area with sofa. There are 29 of this type room and they are slightly larger than the lodge Medium. The second of the Lodge Deluxe type rooms boasts two queen beds, a large marble bath, 31" television and handmade solid oak French furnishings. There are 6 total of this type room. Balcony Room There are 7 Lodge Balcony rooms (3 with a small fireplace) that feature either a king bed or two queen beds in a medium-size room with double French doors leading to a balcony with wonderful Sun Valley views. Each Lodge Balcony room offers a marble bath, 31" television and handmade solid oak French furnishings. Parlor Suite A Parlor Suite is a comfortable two-room suite consisting of a sitting room parlor and a separate bedroom with king bed. Each Parlor Suite in the Sun Valley Lodge offers a beautifully decorated marble bath and two large television sets. There are a total of 6 of the suites, five feature a fireplace and four offer an outdoor balcony. Family Suite Ideal for the whole gang, a Family Suite offers three beds in one and a half rooms with one and a half baths. Most Family Suites have one king bed and a couch in one room with a full marble bath, plus a side room with two twin beds and a half bath. There are a total of five of these suites. SUN VALLEY INN The Tyrolean-style Sun Valley Inn has been completely remodeled and is located in the Sun Valley Village . This hotel plays host to our conventions, providing all new state of the art meeting rooms and technological facilities. The hotel rooms are all new as well and feature exquisite appointments including custom European furnishings, all wool carpeting, marble bathrooms and vanities, handsome hickory veneer paneling, and flat screen plasma televisions. Also, each room is wired for high-speed Ethernet internet access. Guests also enjoy the new and very popular Inn Lobby Lounge, the luxurious year-round glass enclosed outdoor pool, a workout facility, and laundry. Standard Room There are 22 Inn Standard rooms located in the Sun Valley Inn. This is the smallest and least expensive option and features one queen bed, a marble bath, a flat-screen plasma television and handmade solid oak French furnishings. These rooms are wired for high-speed Ethernet internet access. Medium Room One may choose from two different Inn Medium rooms. The first is an Inn Medium featuring one queen bed. This room is slightly larger than the Inn standard and there are five of these rooms in the Inn. The second type of Inn Medium room offers two double beds and is slightly larger than the Inn Medium queen room. There are a total of 16 of these rooms. All of these rooms feature marble baths, handmade solid oak French furnishings and flat-screen plasma televisions. All of the Medium rooms are wired for high-speed Ethernet internet access. Deluxe Room The Inn offers two different Deluxe rooms. The first Inn Deluxe option features one king bed and there are 33 of these rooms. The second type offers two queen beds, and there are 12 of these rooms. All of these rooms feature marble baths, handmade solid oak French furnishings and flat-screen plasma televisions. The Deluxe rooms also are wired for high-speed Ethernet internet access. Junior Suite There are four Junior Suites in the Inn. They are larger than the Deluxe rooms and all feature King beds, marble baths, handmade solid oak French furnishings and flat-screen plasma televisions. All of the Junior suites are wired for high-speed Ethernet internet access. Family Suite There is one Family Suite in the Inn and it features two rooms, one room with a queen bed, one with two twin beds. Both bedrooms have full marble baths, handmade solid oak French furnishing and a flat-screen plasma television. This suite is wired for high-speed Ethernet internet access. Parlor Suite The Inn Parlor Suites are two-room suites consisting of a sitting parlor and a bedroom with one King bed, beautifully decorated with a marble and granite bath and two flat-screen televisions. There are six of these suites available at the Inn . The Parlor suites are wired for high-speed Ethernet internet access. Apartment The Sun Valley Inn has four Inn Apartments, all consisting of three bedrooms with one king bed, one queen bed and two twin beds. All offer a living room with a 31" television, dining table for six, two large marble bathrooms and full kitchen with granite counters. They are beautifully decorated and all provide their own private entrance. SUN VALLEY DELUXE CONDOS The Deluxe Condominiums at Sun Valley Resort offer spacious lodging in fashionably decorated surroundings for those seeking the comfort of a condominium-style accommodation in close proximity to our fine dining and shopping. Deluxe Lodge Apartments The Deluxe Lodge Apartment Condominiums are conveniently located adjacent to the Sun Valley Lodge. As a Lodge Apartment guest, you will enjoy the close proximity to all of the Sun Valley Lodge amenities including the world-famous Sun Valley Ice Shows, the comfortably heated Lodge pool and sauna, our very own bowling alley and game room, the Sun Valley Salon & Day spa as well as some of the finest dining in town. The many Deluxe Lodge Apartment options include one, two and three bedroom units with either one king, one queen or two twin beds in each bedroom, a large marble bath for each bedroom, fireplace, living room, kitchen and dining table for six. We offer a total of 125 Deluxe Lodge Apartments. Deluxe Wildflower Contemporary elegance is reflected in the Deluxe Wildflower Condominiums, which are located near the Sun Valley Inn. In the summer months, Wildflower guests will enjoy the close proximity to the Sun Valley Olympic Pool, the Sun Valley Resort Golf Course and Sun Valley Tennis Center. During the winter season, the Sun Valley Nordic & Snowshoe Center offers over 25 kilometers of groomed cross-country trails nearby. Additionally, our resort Jacuzzi and the Sun Valley Inn heated pool are located near this area. The Deluxe Wildflower Condominiums offer one, two and three bedroom units with either one king bed, one queen bed or two twin beds in each bedroom, a large bathroom for each bedroom, fireplace, living room, dining area and kitchen. There are just 15 of these rooms. SUN VALLEY STANDARD CONDOS Sun Valley Resort's Standard Condominiums form a horseshoe around our magical village and are all within a ten-minute walk of the Inn or Lodge. With fully equipped kitchens and spacious living areas, these units offer both convenience and affordability for your mountain stay. For your comfort, daily maid service is provided. Standard Village Condominiums consist of Snow Creek, Dollar, Cottonwood, Villager and Dollar Meadows. Standard Atelier Condominiums feature either a studio suite for two or a two-bedroom unit for up to four. Studio Condo The Standard Studio Condominium is a one room accommodation with one queen bed, dining area, small kitchen and one bathroom. We offer a total of 21 studio condominiums. One Bedroom There are 17 Standard One Bedroom Condominium options at the Sun Valley Resort. Each is a one bedroom condominium, with either one king bed or one queen bed, one bath, living room with fireplace, dining area and kitchen. Two Bedroom The Standard Two Bedroom Condominium is a comfortable option with two bedrooms usually with one king bed and two twin beds, two bathrooms, living room, dining area, fireplace and kitchen. We offer 27 of this type of condominium. Three Bedroom There are just 10 Standard Three Bedroom Condominiums at the Sun Valley Resort. Each is a spacious three bedroom condominium with typically one king bed, one queen bed and two twin beds, two to three bathrooms, living room, fireplace, dining area and kitchen. Four Bedroom Being the largest of the condos at the Sun Valley Resort, the Standard Four Bedroom Condominium houses four bedrooms, typically with three queen beds and two twin beds, three bathrooms, living room, dining area, fireplace and kitchen. We offer 7 of this type of condominium and it is ideal for a larger or extended family. SUN VALLEY COTTAGES The Sun Valley Resort offers six different cottages ranging from two bedrooms to five bedrooms. The Guest, Harriman and President's cottages are less than a one minute walk from the Sun Valley Lodge. The Eccles, Lake and View cottages are less than a five minute walk from the Sun Valley Lodge. Eccles Cottage This wonderful cottage located near the Sun Valley Lake features five bedrooms (one king bed and eight twins), three baths, a large living room with a roll-top desk and fireplace, a dining room furnished with a large dining table seating 8-10, a full kitchen with dishwasher and new refrigerator. Additionally, the Eccles Cottage has a utility room complete with washer and dryer, ironing board, ice maker, vacuum and storage. Guest Cottage The Guest Cottage is located near the Sun Valley Lodge and has four bedrooms total. The first floor features the master bedroom (king bed) as well as a small bedroom (queen bed), a living room with gas fireplace, dining room, kitchen and a delightful breakfast porch. On the second floor, you will find two bedrooms, each with two twins and one bath to share. Harriman Cottage The Harriman Cottage is located near the historic Sun Valley Lodge. It features five bedrooms (two king beds and seven twins), four and one-half baths, a fireplace, large dining room, full kitchen and a washer & dryer. Lake Cottage Located next to the beautiful Sun Valley Lake, this delightful cottage houses five bedrooms (three queens, two twins, four bunk beds, one trundle bed and one couch bed), a full kitchen with microwave and dishwasher, a large dining room, color television and a wood fireplace. Additionally, the Lake Cottage has a basement complete with a washer and dryer. President's Cottage The President's Cottage is conveniently located near the Sun Valley Lodge. It has two bedrooms (one king bed & two queen beds) and two baths. Inside is a large living room with color television and wood fireplace, a dining room (seating 6-8) and full kitchen. View Cottage The quaint View Cottage is just off the Sun Valley Lake and is complete with 4 bedrooms (one king bed, two queen beds & three twin beds), four baths, a Jacuzzi tub in the master bath, a wood fireplace, full kitchen, living/dining room combination and a washer & dryer. Sun Valley Nordic and Snowshoe Center is located in the backyard of the world famous Sun Valley Lodge. Cross country skiers have all the amenities of America's first year-round destination resort surrounding their Nordic ski experience. Two heated outdoor pools, ice skating, elegant dining, exclusive shopping and village ambience complement some of the best cross country skiing in the Rocky Mountains.
40 kilometers, or about 25 miles of manicured and marked trails begin at the Nordic Center. Gentle terrain at the trailhead progresses to challenging hills. Gliding over glistening meadows at an elevation of 6,000 feet is a unique experience for the Rocky Mountain cross country skier seeking a wide variety of classical, skate skiing and ski touring. Ski touring in the nearby Sawtooth National Recreation Area also may be arranged by the Sun Valley Nordic Center.
Sun Valley houses the largest Nordic ski school in the Sun Valley/Sawtooth National Recreation Area. The very latest teaching techniques are incorporated into all levels of instruction, clinics and private lessons. Clinics require a minimum of students.
Grooming gives a faster glide and more fun in cross country skiing. Sun Valley's equipment runs around all the tracks setting and maintaining a prepared surface for classical and skating lanes.
