The Flying B Ranch Hunting and Fishing Lodge Description: The Flying B Ranch, North America's most versatile outdoor outfitter, covers 4,200 acres of Lawyer Creek Canyon, and holds exclusive outfitter rights to over 740,000 acres of the Nez Perce and Clearwater National Forests in North Central Idaho. The Ranch offers three complete programs: Wingshooting, Fishing and Big Game Hunting. Additional Information: Nestled in enchanting Lawyer Canyon, the Flying B Ranch sits on 4,200 acres of rich historic and isolated wildlife habitat. The Flying B Lodge captures the pioneer spirit of the West while providing all the comforts of a world-class lodge. Guests at the Flying B Ranch will enjoy a cuisine celebrating wild game. In addition to pheasant sausage or an elk steak, you may be sampling the classical braised lamb shank or a contemporary champagne sorbet. We pride ourselves on using the freshest ingredients available and presenting our guests with a varied menu featuring regional specialties, as well as, some ethnic selections. In the trophy room, one can relax amid western warmth that suggests the vast natural beauty of the Northwest. The lounge offers a big-screen television, a full-size billiard table, and other forms of entertainment. Take in a sauna, soak in the Jacuzzi, or take in a massage before or after dinner. There is even a Pro Shop! All the comfort and safety essentials are available here—from chaps to safety glasses; shooting vests to earplugs; along with a variety of hats and tee-shirts for folks back home Amenities: At fourteen thousand square feet and built entirely of logs, the Flying B Lodge offers fourteen spacious guest rooms—each with a private bath; individual heating and air conditioning; TV and VCR; and a patio with a view of scenic Lawyer Creek Canyon.Activities: Wingshooting Adventures at the Flying B Ranch
The Flying B Ranch is an Orvis Endorsed Wingshooting Lodge located at the base of the Clearwater Mountain range near the town of Kamiah (kam-e-i). Our wingshooting adventures include 3 DAY / 4 NIGHT and 2 DAY / 3 NIGHT packages, as well as our Cast-and-Blast package combining 2 days of wingshooting experience with a day of steelhead fishing in one great package. Upland species commonly found on the Flying B Ranch are Hungarian partridge, chukar, pheasant, blue and ruffed grouse, and valley quail. Guests hunt over the Flying B Ranch’s German Shorthairs and English Pointers, the pride and joy of the operation. The Flying B Ranch also welcomes the wingshooter's own dogs into the field.
Our hunting areas are accessed by customized vehicles. Each outing is a personalized experience providing plenty of shooting with no bag limits. Ideal for warming up or practice, the Flying B Ranch offers a challenging sporting clays range featuring 10 stations. Use of this range is included with all wingshooting packages. Fly-Fishing Adventures at the Flying B Ranch
Flying B Ranch is also an Orvis Endorsed Fly-Fishing Lodge offering fishing adventures from July through April. Strategically located on the Clearwater River, a nationally recognized steelhead fishery, the Flying B Ranch caters to the avid fly-fisherman whose desire is the thrill of landing that 12 to 22 pound steelhead trout with a fly. Speed boats equipped with bait hookups are also available. Our backcountry adventures include both alpine lakes fishing for brook trout and westslope cutthroat, and fly fishing in our catch-and-release only waters of Weitas Creek for westslope cutthroats and rainbows.
Big Game Hunting with the Flying B Ranch
Three Rivers country lies in the heart of Idaho where the Lochsa, Selway, and Clearwater rivers have carved their paths through a landscape of extraordinary beauty. With exclusive outfitting rights to over 740,000 acres of the Nez Perce and Clearwater National Forests, the Flying B Ranch offers a complete big game hunting program. Big game adventures include hunting elk, whitetail, mule deer, black bear, turkey, moose, cougar and bobcat. Being strategically located close to the base of the Bitterroot Wilderness, many of our hunting trips originate from the Flying B Lodge. Others are conducted from one of our many backcountry campsites. This is rugged country, so bring your desire and lots of willpower; we’ll add our expertise to the pursuit of your coveted trophy.
Flying B Lodge
Central to any outdoor adventure at the Flying B Ranch is our 14,000 sq. ft. lodge. The Flying B Lodge boasts 14 rooms with the capacity to sleep 21. You will enjoy rustic luxury at its finest including a spacious private room each with private bath, TV, VCR, and telephone. Enjoy delicious cocktails in our comfortable lounge, equipped with full-size pool table and big screen TV. After dinner, take a dip in our soothing Jacuzzi or relax in our sauna. Guests at the Flying B Ranch will enjoy gourmet meals and good conversation in our dining room. Local and fine wines are featured at dinner; guests are welcome to bring their favorite spirits with them. As always, the Flying B kitchen is pleased to arrange meals for those with special requirements.
