Call of the Canyon Cabins - Idaho Springs, Colorad Description:
Two Colorado creek side cabins, secluded, romantic and surrounded by national forest, located outside of Idaho Springs, Colorado, just minutes from world class skiing and white water rafting. 50 minutes from Denver, Colorado.

Additional Information:
Mount Evans, Colorado the top of the world is 14,260 feet above sea level. Drive the highest paved road in the Northern Hemisphere where herds of bighorn sheep and mountain goats graze above timberline. Spectacular views where an abundance of wildlife roam. At the base of Mt. Evans is where you will find Call of the Canyon Cabins 6 miles south of Idaho Springs, Colorado.

Call of the Canyon Cabins are located at the foot of Mt. Evans at 8,900 feet above sea level in Arapaho National Forest. West Chicago Creek which originates in the Mt. Evans wilderness area runs only 25 feet from the cabins and is filled with pan sized rainbow trout. (BUT DON'T YOU DARE CATCH HAL!) our mascot.

Call of the Canyon Cabins are conveniently located 6 miles south of Interstate 70 on highway 103 out of Idaho Springs, Colorado (only 50 minutes from Denver). Idaho Springs named after Chief Idaho and the natural mineral hot springs (considered sacred to the Indians) is where the Colorado gold rush began in 1859. Idaho Springs, Colorado is a historic old mining town with many abandoned mines (fun to explore) and a few still working in the area. A few minutes away you will find Central City "the richest square mile on earth" another Colorado gold rush town which now has legalized gambling.



Amenities:
The cabins can sleep from 1 to 8 people and have full kitchens, big rock fireplaces, beautyrest beds with down comforters and log bed frames.

After a day of skiing Colorado's world class ski areas soak your bones at Indian Springs natural mineral hot springs and rejuvenate your body and soul. Then head home to Call of the Canyon Cabins and stoke up the fire in the stone fireplace and enjoy the comfort of your queen size country bed. Nestled in the comfort of down you will sleep soundly to the rushing sound of West Chicago Creek right outside your window. All of the cabins built lovingly in 1950 have fully equipped kitchens, big rock fireplaces and beautiful appointments.

Activities:
In addition to offering easy access to the world's best downhill skiing, Loveland, Keystone, Winter Park, Arapaho Basin, Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, (all 20 to 45 minutes away) you can cross country ski and snow shoe right outside the door. Call of the Canyon Cabins are the perfect spot for hiking, Mt. biking, fishing, or just plain relaxing.
