Bogus Basin Mountain Resort Description:
Bogus Basin Mountain Resort is located a few miles north of Bosie, Idaho. This is the offical website of the Bogus Basin Mountain Resort. It provides information on lodging, activites, dining, nightlife and much, much more.

Additional Information:
Bogus Basin Mountain Resort is one of few, successful non-profit ski resorts in North America. It got its humble start in the late 1930's when a group of hearty individuals realized their dreams of a ski hill above Boise. They named Bogus Basin after the fool's gold that was found in the hills below Deer Point. Many old-timers will give a wink and a nod as they embellish the lore of "Jughead Jake" and "Pan Handle Pete". Legend has it, the two used the fool's gold to whoop it up in the valley and then left town before their secret was learned, leaving many Boise businessmen nothing to show for it except "bogus gold".

These days, there is a bounty of treasures at Bogus Basin Mountain Resort. The year-round resort is located just 16.5 miles from downtown Boise. It caters to nearly 400,000 skiers and snowboarders each winter season. During summer months, Bogus is host to concerts, weddings and reunions.

In 1998 Bogus Basin Mountain Resort created a buying frenzy when it decided to slash prices on season passes. Skiers and snowboarders came in droves to purchase the deeply discounted passes. At $199 for a regular pass, $29 for a kid pass (age 7-11) and $800 for a family pass, Boise was turned into a ski town! Bogus Basin issued more than 25,000 passes for the 1998-99 season. No other ski resort in the country had ever done such a thing. Many skeptics waited for the other shoe to drop-but it didn't. The 1998-99 season went off without a hitch. In fact, Mother Nature helped out by delivering one of the biggest snow years in Bogus Basin's history. Bogus Basin continues to offer ultra affordable season passes so that everyone can enjoy "The Best Local Ski Resort in the Country."
