Vail Mountain has 1,880 acres of skiing terrain, plus an additional 703 acres of skiing in the incomparable back bowls. Vail Mountain skiing offers beautifully groomed and packed trails, designed to please and challenge all levels of skiing ability - from beginner to expert. Vail's 19 lifts include four high-speed detachable quad chair lifts, all carefully planned and located to whisk you up the mountain with a minimum of waiting time. The ski school at Vail offers a variety of regular class lessons. Driving from Denver: Vail is located 120 miles (192 km) from Denver on Interstate 70 at exits 173, 176 and 180. Air Service Vail is accessible from the Vail/Eagle County Airport or Denver International Airport. Vail/Eagle County Airport The Vail/Eagle County Airport (EGE) is located only 30 minutes from Vail. Service is provided by American, Continental, Delta, Northwest and United. Denver International Airport Denver International Airport (DEN) is located just east of Denver and is convenient to Vail via Interstate 70. Go west on Interstate 70 to reach Vail. Colorado Springs Airport Colorado Springs Airport is another way to reach Vail. Take State Highway 24 from Colorado Springs to Vail. Vail Bus System The Town of Vail bus system, the largest free bus system in the country, offers bus service daily. Buses run regularly between the eastern end of Vail Village and the western end of Lionshead. Scheduled buses to outlying properties, in areas such as East Vail and West Vail, run frequently as well.
