Buffalo Creek Ranch Description: BuffaloCreek: For Colorado Fly fishing, come to BuffaloCreek Ranch for the best in Colorado Fly fishing. Up here in Northern Colorado Elk Hunting is very popular...if you desire to stay in luxurious accommodations, a beautiful brand new three story lodge, with every detail attended to for your comfort.Additional Information: We invite you make yourselves at home in our newly-built, three story lodge. It features all of the amenities, including six comfortable bedrooms, newly decorated in the year 2000. Bed choices range from queen size to side-by-side twins. The lodge's three levels insures privacy, each level with its own bathroom stuffed with fluffy towels of individual colors for each guest. Your choice of delicious and hearty meals are served family style overlooking the deck surrounded by aspen forest with views of Buffalo Ridge, Timothy Ridge and North Park's snowcapped Zirkle Mountain range and your six person hot tub. We offer a variety of menu options to our guests to select from before they visit and can accommodate all dietary restrictions. We take pride in paying attention to detail and customer service. The lodge's fully stocked kitchens are always open, where you can find prepared snacks and drinks for between meal needs. The living areas (one for each level) have comfortable deep sofas, glass fronted wood stoves, telephones and satellite television. During low season (winter only), we rent the lodge without meals and ranch activities included. Activities: We invite you to soak in Buffalo Creek Ranch’s incomparable beauty from horseback. Ride our horses with us, or bring your own.
If you are riding with us, we will match the horse and rider by ability and size. When our horses are on the trail, you will be assisted by a friendly wrangler to ensure your safety as well as the horses’. We provide lessons for children and beginners, moving them from a safe area setting to the trail, when both the trainer and the rider are confident of the rider’s safety.
If you are bringing your own horses, we see to the horses’ safety and comfort in Buffalo Creek Ranch style. Your horses will have the option of a roomy box stall in our newly built log barn as well as individual turnouts, constructed of smooth wood post and pole. Stalls are picked clean morning and evening. Our excellent, unfertilized timothy/clover mix hay is available if you prefer not to bring your own. With advance notice, we can stock our barn with your favorite grain if it’s available at our local feed store. Riders with their own mounts have the option of riding guided or unguided.
All horses visiting the Buffalo Creek Ranch are required to bring clean Coggins test results and have proof of vaccination.
Riders are encouraged to work with our local cowboys if they wish. Cattle drives, doctoring cattle, and brandings are just a few of the options that may be available during your stay.
Winter Activities
Our winter guests come for many reasons, but all revel in the incomparable quiet of the white winter woods. We invite you to start your day on the sleigh with our cowboys. After a hot, filling breakfast, strap on your skis or snowshoes to enjoy endless miles of groomed ski trails. The bolder adventurer may want to backcountry ski into steep mountain terrain and test their telemark turns. When the day is through, don’t neglect your tired body. Slip onto the deck and soak in the hot tub under our wide starry skies.
Iced-over Buffalo Lake beckons you to tie on your ice skates for a glide. If this hasn’t pulled enough belly laughs out of you, then perhaps a zip down our groomed sled hills will. It is guaranteed to bring out the kid in everyone.
Shooting Sports
All of our visitors are invited to sharpen their shooting skills while staying with us. Whether your preferred method of shooting is a shotgun or rifle, we have you covered.
Our professional trap range is an entertaining way to spend a few hours while enjoying the camaraderie of your lodge friends.
For shooting enthusiasts, we also have a 100 yard rifle range. This comes in handy for our hunters, who need to sight in their rifles after traveling.
Soon, we will also be featuring sporting clays. Guests will be charged a nominal fee for trap and shells. |
