We're proud to welcome you to Trappers Lake, where the wilderness preservation movement began in 1919, culminating in 1964 with this nation's bold and first of its kind ever Wilderness Protection Act. In the heart of the White River National Forest, 50 miles east of Meeker and 70 miles southwest of Steamboat Springs, Colorado, the Flat Tops Wilderness Area features: Over 30 alpine lakes with 1,400 surface acres 100 miles of excellent stream fishing Some of the largest elk herds in North America Areas of pristine wilderness where no motor vehicles are allowed And sceneries unlike any other place in Colorado...or any other place on earth. Amenities: Trappers Lake Lodge & Resort is 50 miles east of Meeker, 70 miles southwest of Steamboat Springs, Colorado, bordering the Flat Tops Wilderness Area in the White River National Forest. Our resort features quaint log cabin accommodations. Drawing upon experiences in some of the finest country clubs and resorts, our executive chef and his staff will amaze you with culinary delights served in the new lodge. Everything you need or want is on-site: horses, boats, canoes, a general store, laundry facilities, bath house and hot tub. Relax in a rustic cabin or "rough it" in a tent at one of our campsites in the Wilderness Area, accessible by foot or on horseback. At 9,500 feet, the air is crisp and clean, the skies are the bluest of blue and white clouds, rainbows and bright stars beckon to you from above.
