King Mountain All-Inclusive Dude Ranch Description: Enjoy the rugged outdoors with the relaxation of an all-inclusive retreat and soak in a self-paced and unforgettable experience! King Mountain Ranch is located high in the Colorado Rockies completely surrounded by the Arapaho National Forest. Some of the abundant activities include horseback riding, hiking, fishing, sport shooting, kid's program, indoor pool, fine dining as well as many more.Additional Information: All activities are offered in a casual western setting which allows your family, group, or corporate retreat to set the pace of your own vacation and allowing us to help you relax.The Lodge The two lodges at King Mountain Ranch house 34 rooms containing either a King or two Double beds. Our rooms boast a spectacular view of the Buffalo Valley and the surrounding mountain views. Many of our rooms have an outside entrance from a large redwood deck. Plenty of deck space to lounge and to take in the breathtaking views. Each room has a private bath. We also have many adjoining rooms, ideal for families. All of our rooms are non-smoking. The King House This is a beautiful secluded lodge perfect for families and groups. It has 8 bedrooms on three floors, with a bathroom on each floor and can house up to 20 people. Enjoy a spacious living area along with a beautiful stone fireplace, full size kitchen and laundry facilities. Our rooms do not have TV’s or telephones in them, but there are many phones located through-out the main lodge. We even have a computer for you to be able to e-mail all of your friends to tell them what an amazing vacation you are having. Activities: We offer guests the opportunity to be involved with many different and fun-filled activities not found on other ranches. Not only do we provide excellent horse riding programs, but an abundant variety of other activities are offered to our guests for their enjoyment and relaxation.
SATURDAY RODEO
Every Saturday, during the summer only, there is a local Rodeo in a nearby town. We have an earlier dinner planned so we can all travel down and watch the real cowboys compete.
FLY-FISHING & SPORT SHOOTING
You can try your luck at fly-fishing in our stocked, private lake. We have all the equipment you need to try this great Colorado activity, along with Rowboats and Paddleboats, or challenge your skill on our Skeet, Trap, and Sporting Clay range at the top of our mountain (Great View!) It's great fun for beginners or expert marksmen!
HIKING & NATURE WALKS
For those looking forward to exploring the many trails and meadows by foot we have all levels of Hiking, both guided and unguided, plus involvement in our Naturalist program that takes you throughout the Arapaho National Forest and the nearby Rocky Mountain National Park.
BOWLING, RECREATION CENTER ACTIVITIES, TENNIS & BASKETBALL
We are the only ranch that has an Antique Bowling Alley in our Recreation Center! It also houses our Billiards and Ping-Pong tables, board games, and a big screen TV with a wall full of videos. We also have TWO lighted tennis courts & a basketball court for your enjoyment day or night. You can also try your hand in a game of volleyball or horseshoes.
SWIMMING & WATER ACTIVITIES
Enjoy a dip in our full size Indoor swimming pool, kept heated
to just the right temperature, and we have plenty of water toys available for the kids. You can also relax in our Indoor or Outdoor hot tubs. Don't forget the paddleboats and rowboats on our private lake!
EVENING ACTIVITIES
There are special evening activities too! Join us for weekly Hay Rides, Singing around the Campfire, Fly-Fishing Clinics, Karaoke & Line-Dancing, Talent Shows, Live Music.
WINTER FUN
In addition to most activities listed for summer and fall, winter time offers cross country skiing, snowshoeing, tubing down our sledding hill, and horse drawn sleigh rides.
OFF-SITE ACTIVITIES
While visiting wonderful Colorado please let us assist you in planning nearby off-site activities such as guided fly-fishing, golf, whitewater rafting, hot air balloon rides, four-wheel tours, and in the winter skiing.
HORSES
Our excellent horseback-riding program is tailored to your experience level, from first time riders to experienced equestrians. At KMR you can experience walk, walk- trot and loping (canter) rides. Along with trail rides through beautiful mountains & open meadows twice daily, we also offer an assortment of breakfast & lunch rides and wagon trips, and even all-day rides (6 hours in the saddle!) Everyone is welcome to take a riding lesson or practice horsemanship skills in our large arena. The age limitation on trail
riding is six years old and higher. We do offer pony rides for younger kids.
ROPING AND TEAM PENNING
For those who are interested, we keep a small herd of steers to teach our guests the fundamentals of working cattle and team penning. Try your hand at roping, or even try team penning. This will put all of your equestrian skills to the test and to see what life was like back in the "ol" days.

We have designed the Fox's Den program to offer
kids ages 4 -12 activities tailored to their interests.

Making Homemade Ice Cream
Nature Hikes
Trail rides in the mountains surrounding the ranch
Singing songs
Playing games
Building stick teepees
Kids who don’t have the horsemanship skills to go on trail rides will get the chance to ride in the arena with our wrangler’s assistance and practice. The rest of the day is occupied with arts and crafts, games, swimming, coloring activities and many more events organized by the kids' counselors.
We have designed this program to allow parents time alone for a "breath of fresh air" without creating two separate vacations for the kids and adults. Recognizing the importance of "together time" on your family vacation, meals are a key time for kids, parents, and grandparents to sit down together to share the day's excursions and stories.
