Swift Current Lodge and Cabins Description: Estes Park Colorado lodging-cabins: Modern lodge and cabins on the Big Thompson River next to Rocky Mountain National Park. Singles, couples and families are welcome.Additional Information: Imagine the peaceful feeling, the connection with Mother Nature and the relaxation you could experience sitting here next to the river. Enjoy our riverside HOT TUB anytime of year !We are 3 miles southwest of downtown Estes Park - close enough to enjoy the diverse activities, yet SECLUDED enough to "get away from it all". We are open year round for your Rocky Mountain experience. Singles, couples and families are welcome. We offer studio and one Bedroom cottages in two of our 3-plexes. Our two story lodge has 4 small units and 2 larger units. Three of our cottages do not have TV. 8 of our units have cooking facilities, the other 4 have microwaves, coffee makers and small refrigerators. We have BBQ grills, picnic area, play area and an outdoor Hot Tub with an amazing view upstream. Enjoy viewing the abundant wildlife during your stay. Fishing can be enjoyed just feet from your door or begin your Rocky Mountain National Park hiking / snowshoe journey 300 yards from our property. There is a trail that leads to Moraine Park and beyond. In season, catch the RMNP shuttle (seasonal) just 1 mile up the trail. Plan ahead for an unforgettable vacation or get-a-way. Experience a Thanksgiving or Christmas holiday in a winter wonderland. Anytime of year, the SWIFTCURRENT LODGE is here to ensure an absolutely wonderful experience. Gift Certificates also available. Relax here by day - In the evening, break out those marshmallows! Enjoy the night sky and the sound of the river. The trail to the right leads to Rocky Mountain National Park, only 300 yards away.Riverside patio for Cottages 9 and 10. WILDLIFE: Depending on the time of year you stay at the Swiftcurrent Lodge, there are many types of wildlife you may see. Elk, deer, marmots, ermine, raccoons, cottontails, coyotes, Abert's squirrels, misc. squirrels, and chipmunks. Birds ranging from hummingbird to eagle. Jay's, kingfishers, various woodpeckers, owls, ducks, chickadees, dippers, and ptarmigans. FISHING: Enjoy river fishing right outside your back door on the Big Thompson River. There are several lakes nearby for lake fisherman. We have had Brown, Brook, Rainbow and Cutthroat Trout pulled from the river, one of the largest being 22"! Activities: Hiking can begin right outside your back door. We are 300 yards from Rocky Mountain National Park. There is a short trail that goes in a circle, crossing the Big Thompson River and Glacier Creek, perfect for an early morning or evening stroll. There is a trail up to Moraine Park, where you can catch a shuttle (seasonal) nearby to other hiking areas in the park, or continue from Moraine Park. You can hike up Eagle Cliff and take in the beautiful panoramic of Moraine Park from above, giving you the most incredible view of the towering Rockies and the Continental Divide. |
