The Baldpate Inn Description:

The Baldpate Inn, located seven miles south of Estes Park, Colorado, and next to Rocky Mountain National Park, is a classic mountain getaway offering Bed and Breakfast lodging, a specialty restaurant, and spectacular views.

Additional Information:

Built in 1917, the Inn has been attracting guests for 85 years to its main lodge and cabins. Baldpate boasts comfortable accommodations, award-winning dining, and the world’s largest key collection from its perch on Twin Sisters Mountain at an elevation of 9,000 feet. From our historic inn you can enjoy hiking, fishing, wildlife watching, or mountain climbing. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, The Baldpate Inn hosts many weddings, family reunions, and other special events.

The Baldpate Inn is open each year from Memorial Day until mid October. We offer a unique bed and breakfast experience with casual hospitality as our hallmark. Our twelve guest rooms and four cabins are decorated with a mountain country flair complete with handmade quilts and dust ruffles of calicos and ginghams. Many of our rooms have spectacular views of the surrounding area. The Inn's library and comfortable lobby welcome guests to engage in friendly conversation or curl up with a book in front of any of the massive stone fireplaces.

Room rates include our delightful three-course breakfast and complimentary bedtime snacks. Our gourmet breakfast features coffee and fruit juice, homemade muffins, seasonal berries, homemade Quiche, and hot home-baked cinnamon rolls fresh from the oven!

For your health, we remind you all rooms and cabins at The Baldpate Inn are non-smoking. As we have a resident German Shepherd, pets are not permitted either in the lodge or in any of our cabins.

Main Lodge

Our twelve guest rooms on the second floor of the main lodge offer you the conveniences of home. Guest rooms with double or twin beds are available with shared or private bath. Each room has its own sink. Our Mae West and Jack Dempsey rooms can adjoin with their neighboring rooms for a two room suite with private bath. Our larger rooms have either two double or one king bed with sitting area and shared bath. Each room has a delightful view, either of the forest above or the valley below. Rooms in the main lodge may be reserved for one or more nights.

CABINS

Each of our cabins is set in the forest just a short walk from the main lodge. All of our cabins have a sitting area with fireplace and down comforters on the beds. Each cabin has a two night minimum stay.

Pinetop

Tucked away in the forest, our sweetheart cabin is perfectly suited to accommodate two guests in a relaxing romantic atmosphere. Amenities include a cozy love seat by the gas fireplace, a canopy queen bed with handmade down comforter quilt, and a two person corner whirlpool spa bath. Outside, the small sitting porch peeks through the pine and aspen for a private view of the valley.

Wrangler

The Wrangler was named to reflect its past life as home of the Baldpate’s legendary horse wrangler, Chuck Malone (you’ll see his name carved into the fireplace mantle!) Our mid-size cabin is perfect for a family get-away or small group of friends traveling together. Two private bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other offering two twin beds, can easily sleep four guests. The spacious bathroom is complete with an antique claw-foot bathtub for a long, hot soak, or simply close the curtains to enjoy a refreshing shower after a day of hiking. The living room boasts a window seat with a beautiful view of the forest and mountains beyond, while the original native stone wood-burning fireplace will invite you to curl up with a book to relax.

Valley View

For those traveling in a larger group, our most spacious cabin delightfully sleeps up to six. Valley View hosts three private bedrooms, two with a queen bed and the third with two twin beds. This cabin has a traditional full bath and comfortable living room with wood burning fireplace. A covered front porch is complete with benches and rocking chairs for a peaceful view of the valley below.

Twin Sisters

Twin Sisters, our most newly renovated cabin, is a charming option for up to four persons. You'll find one large bedroom with queen bed and whirlpool bath for two. The living room has a vaulted ceiling, gas fireplace, two comfortable twin daybeds, and even a mini frig for your favorite beverages. Each of the beds feature hypo-allergenic comforters and pillows. In the bathroom the dual-headed stone shower is the perfect remedy for those tired hiking muscles. The rocking chairs on the covered front porch invite quiet moments to enjoy the peaceful forest setting.

Located in the beautiful mountains just south of Estes Park, Colorado, The Baldpate Inn offers many ways for our guests to enjoy our spectacular views and award-winning scenery. The Inn's private 15 acres are surrounded by Rocky Mountain National Park and National Forest lands, so ample opportunities for hiking and wildlife viewing are available. Trailheads for Twin Sisters, Lily Mountain, and Lily Lake Ridge are just steps away.
