The Great Escape B&B Description: Crested Butte, Colorado bed and breakfast, The Great Escape offers rocky mountain Victorian accommodations for Colorado ski vacations, romantic weekends or vacation getaways near Mount Crested Butte, CO.Additional Information: Located in the heart of Crested Butte, an 1880's mining town and National Historic District, our B&B can be your home-base for year-round activitiesThe town of Crested Butte is different enough to be memorable. Many of the houses are 100 years old, and the carefully restored residences create a spell of the 19th century. Crested Butte is the way Aspen used to be and Vail never was. The Great Escape is a charming Victorian Style B&B just 2 blocks from the downtown. The decor is an eclectic mix of modern, ethnic and antique. The bedrooms have themes: The Indonesian, The Cowboy, The Southwest and The English. There is a wonderful deck off the living room, an outdoor hot tub, bike racks, heated wood floors, a wood burning stove, shelves of books and games and a cable TV in each room. A full breakfast is served every morning. You can escape to the thrill of outdoor sports, winter and summer. Crested Butte is totally surrounded by majestic peaks and lush wilderness areas, home to many varieties of wildlife. Summer offers hiking, biking, art & music, fishing and wildflowers. As the wildflower capital of Colorado, Crested Butte hosts the Wildflower Festival-as well as the Festival of the Arts, Chamber Music Festival, Aerial Weekend and Fat Tire Bike Week (more than 200 miles of mountain bike trails available)... and still more. Whitewater rafting, superb lakes and rivers for fishing offer non-stop beauty and enjoyment. Winter presents the ideal spot for snow shoeing, nordic and downhill skiing, snowmobiles and sleigh rides. A free shuttle bus delivers you from our door to the ski lift and home again-meaning you don't need to rent a car. Indonesian Room The queen-size bamboo canopy bed is surrounded by rich colors of ethnic tapestries, as well as tribal masks and other unique furnishings. The Indonesian Room features a private bath. English Room The queen-size, wrought iron canopy bed is enhanced by the cathedral ceiling; vintage furniture adds to the old-world atmosphere. The English Room features a private bath. The Cowboy Room The carved-wood, queen-size bed rests amid vintage furniture and cowboy memorabilia. The Cowboy Room shares a bath with the Southwest Room. Southwest Room Sleep under the stars in a hand-crafted, wrought iron queen-size bed with its unique canopy of stars, surrounded by authentic furnishings and rugs. The Southwest Room shares a bath with the Cowboy Room. The Cowboy Room and Southwest Room can also be reserved in combination as a suite with a shared bath. |
