Purple Mountain B&B Description:

Located within this historical town is the Purple Mountain Lodge Bed & Breakfast and Spa. Only two blocks from Elk Street, which offers wonderful dining and unique shopping experiences, our lodging accommodation is one of the oldest B&B’s in the mountain resort town.

Additional Information:

The quaint inn has five cozy guest rooms. Each room’s accommodations are unique; all have specific amenities, including spectacular mountain views, private baths, and room phones with voice mail. A home-cooked breakfast awaits our guests in the morning. Guests also have access to a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker for personal use. We are also planning to offer facials, body wraps, and therapeutic massage in our new spa, "An Essential Escape", opening December 2003.

Imagine. . . . .coming in from an action packed day to loosen up in an outdoor hot tub with a mountain view before going in to have a relaxing massage. Then, treating yourself to a glass of our home-brewed beer and wine to whet your palate before you head out for a night of enjoyment on the town. Finally, wake up the following morning to the aromas of a home-cooked breakfast giving you a jumpstart to your new day of adventure. Why stay at a hotel or motel when you can have the comforts of home while playing in the mystical wonderland of Crested Butte?

All of our guest rooms are located on the second floor allowing every room to have a spectacular view of the mountains by which each room has earned its name. On the second floor, the guests have access to a refrigerator, coffee maker, and microwave for use at any time of the day or night.

The Whetstone Room

Located to the south of our home, the Whetstone range tops out at 12,516 feet. The Whetstone room is the largest of all the rooms. This suite offers many amenities for it’s guests. After a day of activity, guests can relax on a private balcony overlooking the Whetstone range. Then, one can soak in a bath in the antique claw foot tub. With an extra twin bed in the room, guests can relax inside and watch cable television, which features Crested Butte’s local extreme sport channel. A queen bed and full bath complete the well-lit room.

The Twin Buttes Room

The white granite pinnacles of Gothic and Crested Butte mountains are considered sister mountains, also known as the Twin Buttes. With Gothic rising to 12,625 feet and Mt. Crested Butte rising to 12,162 feet, both mountains reveal a stunning view and challenging hikes for all. One of our favorite guests’ room, the Twin Buttes room overlooks both of these well-known peaks as well as the northern mountain range. The small sitting area gives guests a place to relax in their room after a long day of activities. The room is complete with a queen bed and full bath.

The Crested Butte Room

The heart of the town thrives around the adventurous challenges and scenic beauty that Mt. Crested Butte offers. At 12,162 feet, the mountain is alive with many activities both in the summer and winter. Our Crested Butte room overlooks this mountain from it’s astounding base up to it’s uniquely shaped peak. A queen bed and full bath complete this room for the guest’s comfort.

The Paradise Divide Room

Off to the left of your room’s view, Paradise Divide winds up a valley between Mt. Cinnamon and Mt. Baldy. It’s unique design makes this room one of the owner’s favorite rooms. Slanted ceilings and a sink set in an antique piece of furniture create a cottage feel to the Paradise Divide room. The immense Mt. Crested Butte stands outside of the room’s view as well. The room completes itself with a queen bed and full bath.

The Red Lady Room

Red Lady’s Bowl on Mt. Emmons, which reaches heights of 12, 392 feet, lends it’s brilliant red hue to the Crested Butte area. Many true adventurers hike Mt. Emmons during the winter to enjoy powder skiing through the section known as Red Lady. Our Red Lady room offers adventurers a small yet cozy place to retreat after a long day of playing in the vast wilderness of Crested Butte. A full-sized bed and private, full bath complete the room.
