Cement Creek Ranch Description: A Colorado cabin rental, in a breathtaking valley, completely surrounded by the 1.7 million acre Gunnison National Forest. Enjoy fly fishing, mountain biking, hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, and much more.
Additional Information: For the vacationer in search of a unique experience in the heart of the Colorado Rocky Mountains, Cement Creek Ranch is the place! Most of its 121 acres are mountain meadows with two miles of crystal clear Cement Creek meandering through its length. Warm springs flow out of the ground to feed a swimming pool and a pond, and eventually cascade over cliffs to the creek below. Cement Creek is a very special place with its own character and beauty.Cement Creek Ranch is conveniently located for those who want to explore Gunnison County and Western Colorado. The quaint old mining townand ski resort of Crested Butte is only 20 minutes away. Guests are accommodated in a cozy, comfortable, two bedroom cabin, with unsurpassed views and complete privacy. It is the only visitor accommodation available on the ranch. Activities: Cement Creek Ranch offers excellent fly fishing, with 2 miles of private water meandering through its alpine meadows. Trout fishing is with barbless flies only with all fish released. The beginner will catch his or her share of mostly browns, but some brook and rainbow trout as well. The expert may see large browns lurking under the undercut banks.
For hikers and mountain bikers, the surrounding National Forest has some of the best trails available anywhere.Nature lovers will appreciate the surrounding forest and wetlands of Cement Creek as an observatory of elk, deer, beaver, bear, birds, plants, and wildflowers. Coyotes can often be heard howling at night and in the early morning.
Perhaps the most important aspect of Cement Creek Ranch is its privacy and quiet. It is easy to sit on the cabin porch or by the warm spring-fed swimming pool all day, relax and escape the stresses of every day life.
In the winter months we enjoy a special experience of peace and solitude up here at Cement Creek Ranch. After sufficient snowfall, access to Cement Creek Ranch in the winter is by a short (one mile) snowshoe or cross-country ski. This distance from the end of the plowed road provides much of the isolation that makes this spot so special. The ski in will dazzle you with glistening snow-covered pine trees and the rushing water of Cement Creek right next to the trail. If desired, a snowmobile ride can be arranged for your initial arrival and final departure.
Cement Creek Ranch is an ideal place to explore the Gunnison National Forest in the winter. Unbelievable snowshoeing, back-country and cross-country skiing are literally right out your door.After a beautiful day of playing in the snow, you can relax in your cozy cabin and enjoy the magnificent view. From your porch you will witness a spectacular show of stars in the night sky. Many visitors enjoy snowshoeing and skiing by the light of the moon. It is a great way to enjoy the glorious nights here at Cement Creek Ranch.
For those who do not want complete isolation on their vacation, the town of Crested Butte is a twenty minute drive. There you can downhill ski, shop, or go out for a nice meal.
