Imagine two storybook Victorian homes and an original carriage house filled with antiques and family heirlooms. In 1902, Mrs. Isabel Holden, the widow of former rancher and prosperous Colorado Springs businessman Daniel M. Holden, built this Colonial Revival Victorian and carriage house. The Holdens owned considerable mining interests in the Colorado towns of Aspen, Cripple Creek, Goldfield, Silverton and Independence for which the five guest suites are named. The memories of Isabel and her family live on today in Holden House. Main House Suites Each of our immaculate & luxurious guest suites boast a comfortable sitting area, private bath with oversized bubble bath "tub for two" (bubbles included), feather pillows, antiques, air conditioning (summer), queen bed, in-room gas fireplace (winter), telephone, modem hook-up, iron/ironing board, hair dryer, color/cable TV and cd player/clock radio. Let us pamper you with our private label amenities, 24 hour coffee/tea service and "famous" bottomless cookie jar, guest refrigerators, turn down chocolates and personal concierge service. You'll enjoy our many common areas by relaxing in a porch swing while viewing the cottage garden, lazing in a rocking chair on the veranda with a glass of lemonade, snuggling up by the Van Briggle tile fireplace with a cup of tea or lounging in our back garden with fountains, flowers and gazebo. Aspen Suite - The open beamed turret with hand painted sky mural, see through fireplace, private sitting area, mountain view and oversized "tub for two" make this suite a honeymooner's dream. Snuggle up in the comfortable reading nook with a good book, indulge in the garden "tub for two" (bubbles included!), and awake in your queen four-poster brass bed. Cripple Creek Suite - This beautifully appointed room is a lovely two room suite reminiscent of English elegance and romance. Carriage House Suites Silverton Suite - (pictured above) This 1st floor, private and traditional style 2 room suite is luxury at its best. The cozy sitting room with a loveseat, and bedroom with mahogany queen four poster bed under a skylight and antique remote-control mission oak fireplace with beveled mirror, let you take a step back in time. The bath with a deep marble Roman "tub for two" and shower combination and malachite marble sink add to the ambiance. Rich deep colors of emerald green with peach accents gives it a traditional atmosphere. View the garden from the bedroom window and dream about a bygone era. This enchanting gabled room is also graced with waterfall furniture that belonged to Sallie's grandmother and a cozy oak framed fireplace. Ivory, Victorian rose and ebony touches add to the light and airy feel of this delightful suite. Privacy and seclusion is the hallmark of this room with a view. The Independence Suite Independence Suite - Guests will enjoy accommodations in this 1st floor private luxury suite. The moment you step inside the foyer of our adjacent Rose Victorian home, you will be touched with elegance. Decorated in soft colors, this two room suite boasts hardwood floors, a bedroom with four-poster canopy bed and original wood columned tiled fireplace with beveled mirror and updated with easy remote control gas operation, a private sitting room with bay window and mission oak loveseat, and a spacious bath with a marble Roman "tub for two" and separate marble shower. You'll enter through a private entrance with refrigerator and coffee/tea service, and in-room color/cable TV with DVD, cd/clock radio, iron/ironing board, telephone/modem hook-up, hair dryer and private label amenities. Relax in your private porch swing on the wide veranda with a view of the mountains and partake in the breakfast delights served in the main house each morning.
