Our vacation home is our "Breckenridge Escape". It continually provides us with warm and fun memories that grow and become richer with time. Our mountain retreat rejuvenates our spirits from the day to day of working, raising a family and trying to keep sane in a crowded, fast paced and sometimes chaotic world. We hope that you will choose to be a guest in our vacation home and that you too will create some special stories and memories that can only be experienced with the help of Forest Haus. So come on in, hang up your hat, turn on the lights, kick back and relax!

Additional Information:

My name is Ben and my wife is Anita. We have two children, Greg and Evan. We are the very proud owners of a treasure that is nestled in the forest of Breckenridge. The locals call our home Forest Haus. It is easy to tell why and is one of the main reasons we fell in love with the home. For Anita and I, it was very important that we find a comfortable environment to escape to. Both of us had lived in many different states, none of which had a mountain environment. Our idea of getting away to have quality time with family and friends was to find a home that was close enough to mountain activities, yet just far enough away to have the level of privacy necessary to decompress from city life and focus on growing our relationships. For us, Forest Haus is an ideal escape. Our home is in harmony with its environment. It is on the mountain, with wildlife and tall trees all around you. In the summer you have the wildflowers. In the winter, a beautiful blanket of fluffy white snow accents the landscape against the crisp crystal blue sky. Every night shares the brilliance of the stars and Milky Way that can only be seen from our vantage point (no city or town lights to interfere). And when you stand outside to listen, about the only thing you will hear is the sound of the wind whispering through the 100-foot pines that shroud our property. When you couple this with summertime out-door dining on our large deck or winter time Après Ski in the hot tub along with a warm cozy home environment, you have the foundations in place for creating magical moments.

If you are local to Colorado, you may appreciate this observation more. And, if you are visiting from another state, you may still notice the same feeling. Once you drive up into the foothills just outside the Denver metro area and leave the city behind, it feels like you have entered into another world! You could be in Montana if you didn't know better!! Well, this same concept applies to our vacation home in Breckenridge. When you enter the town of Breckenridge, you will notice the Victorian splendor of an old mining town that has been resurrected to be one of the world's renowned ski resorts. It is an awesome feeling to "arrive" and get your vacation started. You and a few other thousand people are experiencing this at the same time. "But with a quick drive up the hill from the center of town and the Peak 9 ski area (our mountain retreat is located just 1000 vertical feet directly above the town of Breckenridge on the east side of Main Street), you will have just re-entered "Montana". For Anita and I, this is an important aspect about our vacation home. We looked at many different homes right in, just within and outside of the resort. As with any popular resort, to accommodate the thousands that visit, you must create the venues to keep them coming back. The price of progress is the crowding of homes, hotels, restaurants, shops, skiing and nightlife. We chose Forest Haus because it lets us enjoy all that the resort has to offer, but on our terms. It is a quick and convenient drive down the hill to town, but when we have had our fill of "bang and glitter", Montana is just up the hill and we can get back to enjoying our family and friends in a relaxed environment. So, Forest Haus is two vacations in one. It offers the flexibility of easily enjoying the resort amenities when you want to, and "turning it off" when you need to. You are in control of your vacation.

-Bedroom Configuration (Sleeps up to 12 in bedrooms and 14 in beds):
-2 bedrooms upstairs - each with queen beds = 4 people
-2 bedrooms on main level - one with a full and one with bunks = 4 people
-Garden level bedroom (oversized room) has one full and two twins = 4 people.This room also has an additional color TV and VCR, making it a great place for kids to have their own space (optional lock off room for a reduced rate).
-Couch in family room can open to a queen = 2 people
