For your added comfort at Chalet Nicklaus we provide keyless entry for your convenience, 3 TV’s with 2 VCR’s with 50 videos, CD player with 25 CD’s, a small book library, hairdryers in each bathroom, propane BBQ on the deck, patio seating and an outdoor private hot tub. The clubhouse restaurant and bar - Jack’s Bar and Grill - is located within a 2-minute walk. Or the Edgewater Lodge restaurant is a wonderful 10-minute walk away via the Valley trail system. The Valley Trail system is located in our back yard. The trails are great for walking, biking, hiking and roller-blading in the summer or the trails are track set for cross-country or skating skiing in the winter. Lost Lake, the perfect swimming lake or Rainbow Beach are both about a 20-minute walk away or a 10 bike ride. Or you can continue along the trails and arrive in the Village. Green Lake, the place to be for fishing or water-skiing or wakeboarding is a 5-minute walk. Meadow Park Sports Centre is located across the street. There has a swimming pool with great kid's section, skating rink, gym, squash courts and aerobics, step and spin classes. The Village is a 5-minute drive or the bus runs every 15 minutes or we can arrange for taxi vouchers. Whistler Village has a huge range of activities to choose from. From bike rentals and tours, ATV tours, rafting, canoe and kayak trips, climbing walls, trapeze, trampolines, trolley tours of the Valley, hiking or walking, enjoying some of the great street entertainment in the summer to snowmobiling, dog sledding, heli-skiing, sleigh rides in the winter. Of course a trip to the top of the mountains via the Gondola or chairlift is a ‘must do’ event in the summer or in the winter regardless if you are a skier. The views are spectacular and the Alpine restaurants are worth the trip. We would be pleased to arrange discounted lift tickets and to provide you with discounted ski hire. As long time residents of Whistler, we are a wealth of information on ski lessons, restaurant recommendations, childcare, cribs and high chairs, golf tee times, wedding planners, specific activities and adventures. And of course we can assist with other services such as stocking the fridge prior to arrival, arranging transfers to and from the airport or downtown Vancouver and pre-booking most anything you wish. Chalet Forest: Amenities Chalet Forest is located above the new Four Seasons hotel and above the Fairmont Chateau Whistler Hotel on the Blackcomb Mountain Benchlands. To access the Upper Village or the Ski lifts you walk across Spearhead Drive and either put on your skis and ski down the trail – less than 2 minutes or walk down the paved trail depending upon the time of the year. The Main Village is a 5-minute walk from the Upper Village or a 5-minute bus ride on the free Village Shuttle bus. The bus stop is located on Spearhead Drive near the entrance to Forest Trails. For your convenience at Chalet Forest we provide keyless entry coded for each guests' arrival. And for your comfort there are 2 TV’s with 2 VCR’s with a selection of videos, CD player with 10 CD’s, a small book library, hairdryers in each bathroom, and a propane BBQ on the deck. There are several eateries in the Upper Village. La Rua Restaurante is a first class, local’s favorite eating establishment. For a more casual experience try Chef Bernard’s – amazing food if you can get a seat or the Double Diamond Grill or Monk’s restaurant or Merlin’s at the base of the mountain for a cafeteria or the best aprčs bar in town. And of course the Fairmont Chateau and the Four Seasons have a few surprisingly good eateries and the Mallard Bar at the Chateau has great aprčs entertainment. The Upper Village has several shops for ski wear, ski/board/bike rental, upscale and casual clothing, photoshop, small grocery store, cold beer and wine store. The Chateau Golf Course, a Robert Trent Jones design is also a five minute walk. Open from May until mid October this exceptional course will challenge anyone. The Whistler Golf Course – Arthur Palmer design and the Nicklaus North Golf Course – Jack Nicklaus designed – are 2 other very good golf courses in Whistler. Chalet Forest is located on the Valley Trail system. The trails are great for walking, biking, hiking and roller-blading in the summer or the trails are track set for cross-country or skating skiing in the winter. Lost Lake, the perfect swimming lake is a 10-minute walk away or a 5 minute bike ride. Or you can continue along the trails and arrive in the Village or walk around the Whistler Golf Course (open winter or summer for walking) and then onto Alta Lake or Green Lake, the place to be for fishing or water-skiing or wakeboarding is a 5-minute walk. A short walk from Chalet Nicklaus... Whistler's complete recreation facility with pool, fitness rooms, squash courts, arena and more. The facility has hosted training camps for many NHL hockey teams including the Vancouver Canucks, Anaheim Mighty Ducks, Dallas Stars, and Team Canada. Several major figure skating camps and events has been hosted at the Sports Centre.
