Emerald Lakes Bed & Breakfast Inn - Nelson, Britis Description: Romantic, luxury Canadian Rockies B&B halfway between Vancouver and Calgary. Emerald Lakes Bed & Breakfast Inn is located directly on the shore of the west arm of Kootenay Lake just north of Nelson, British Columbia, Canada. Nelson is 3 hours from Spokane, Washington, U.S.A. and 30 minutes from the Castlegar, British Columbia, Canada airport.Additional Information: Return home to Emerald Lakes Inn at the end the day, don one of our thick spa robes, and make your way to the sauna where the steam and warmth will dissolve the strain of the day’s exertion. After dining at one of the area’s fine restaurants, you can sit in the vaulted pool atrium with a hot cup of cocoa, wind down from the day, and plan the following day’s activities. Our "Gold" rooms are spacious with elegant baths and have French doors that open onto the pool atrium. The Mandarin Room has a large seating area not shown in the picture and the Emerald Room has a wonderful view of the lake and gardens. In addition to the king bed, the Emerald Room has a single bed and the Mandarin Room has two single beds. Our "Silver" rooms are the Lotus and Samurai Rooms. The "silver" rooms have private baths and overlook the garden with the Lotus Room affording a gorgeous view of the lake. Both are decorated in fine Oriental art and have an additional single bed as well as the queen bed. The Emerald Room - Spacious Luxury with a Fabulous Lake View Sip champagne by candlelight, luxuriating in mountains of bubbles in the two-person jetted/air-bubble spa tub. Or snuggle in the comfort of The Emerald Room's king-sized bed. The Emerald Room is decorated in a combination of antique Japanese and Chinese art and furniture. An antique Chinese Empress scroll brought back by your host from Beijing is one of the prominent features of this room. Twin Thai elephants guard the entrance from the pool to The Emerald Room through French doors. Enjoy your first coffee of the morning while you watch the birds swoop into the bird feeder or the ducks and geese swim in formation along the mirrored surface of the lake. The bathroom features double sinks, a gravity waterfall shower head above the spa tub, a bidet, heat lamp, and a towel warming rack. This interesting tiered bath is decorated with original watercolors. Other amenities of the Emerald Room include a CD player, TV/VCR, coffee maker, clothes steamer, and a writing desk. The Mandarin Room - A Grand Post & Beam Room with Elegant Tapestry Two sets of French doors provide entrance to this extremely spacious and warm post and beam room. At one end can be found a large seating area with built-in bookcase and a TV/VCR. The dramatic Chinese tapestry described below forms the focal point of the room above the king bed. At the other end can be found a twin bed with an additional pull-out bed and twin armoires that are located at either side of the tiered stairs leading to the Mandarin Room's private bath. A waterfall cascades from the Mandarin bath's impressive brass spout to fill the two-person therapeutic jet and soothing air-bubble spa tub. The green granite sink faucet will charm you. Those who appreciate needlework must view the Mandarin Room’s antique tapestry acquired in Shanghai, from which the room draws its name. Covered in fine, tiny stitches, the seven foot hanging which depicts a Chinese emperor and his retainers hangs above the king bed. The antique Chinese and Oriental art repeats the Mandarin theme. One set of doors opens onto the pool atrium where guests may wish to enjoy their first cup of coffee in the morning. The Samurai Room - Garden View This room draws its name from the remarkable antique Boy’s Day samurai armor (shown above) and samurai prints displayed. A queen bed, twin bed, and futon bed/chair allow for three guests. The view from this handsome room is of the garden with some view of the lake from the bed. A portable TV/VCR and a writing desk are provided. The Samurai Room's spacious private bath is located just across the hall. The bath features original Japanese paintings. Its oak trim compliments the tiled surround soaker tub/shower combination. A balcony with seating area and computer with Internet access are located just down the hall from the Samurai Room. Enjoy your first cup of coffee on the balcony that overlooks the post & beam dining room. Wake up to the call of the geese on the lake. On occasion, you may see them alight under the huge cedar tree just outside you window. The Lotus Room - A Lake View This lovely room draws its name from its framed antique embroidered Japanese “Furoshiki” (gift wrapping cloth). The window provides wonderful views of Kootenay Lake and the mountains on the opposite shore. The queen bed and a daybed provide sleeping space for three people. The Lotus Room's private bath is located just across the hall. Relax with your partner in the soothing 2-person air-bubble spa tub.
