Fernie Alpine Lodge Description:
Situated in the village of Fernie Alpine Resort with ski-in ski-out accessibility, Alpine Lodge provides a unique accommodation experience. Blending the atmosphere of a resort with the warmth and service of a B&B, Alpine Lodge Pension is the best of both worlds (and a great place to be after a long day shaking the world-famous powder from your hair).

Additional Information:
Good friends are made around the huge log fireplace while you sip your wine and share the day's adventures. In the adjoining dining room evening meals in a Japanese theme are created that rival the best dining experience Fernie has to offer.

On a more prestigious note, Alpine Lodge was the winner of the 2001 Fernie Tourism Award in the accommodation category. After only two years in business, this must mean we're doing something right!

Alpine Lodge has 8 guest rooms on two floors with access from the lobby. All rooms have views of either the ski hill or the forest and trail network. Guests may choose from a King size bed, perfect for couples, or double bunk beds. These rooms are very popular with families.

Each room has an attached ensuite with sink, toilet and shower. Adjoining rooms are also available.

Our guest rooms are certainly comfortable, but we encourage guests to join us in the Great Room around a roaring fire.

The view of the ski hill is wonderful, and this is where some of the best memories of your holiday are made. Our clientelle is varied... couples, singles, families, from near and far. During any stay you could meet a traveller from Australia, Japan, USA or just around the corner in Alberta.

You'll all have something in common, a love for the awe-inspiring magnificence of the Canadian Rockies.

After a long, 'hard' day on the slopes you'll want to relax your muscles with a soak in the hot tub. A short hop from the back steps to the tub and you'll feel the exhaustion melt away, just in time for dinner.

Or perhaps a steam bath is more to your liking. Our steam room is probably the best way to get the cold from your bones on those really chilly days. If you'd like, a massage is also available by request. Several excellent bodyworkers reside in Fernie and make their services available on the ski hill. Check with us when you book your reservation and we'll set it up for you at the lodge.

There are no phones, computer jacks or televisions in the room. We want you to relax! Watch the sunset from the deck or have a hot tub or massage instead

Activities:
A stroll down historic main street, a four wheel drive to the microwave towers to check-out the sunset, Ghostriders games, Hotsprings, golf, tennis, world class fishing and of course a mountain full of activities awaits. Fernie has snow-play possiblities that boggle the mind. Renowned for feather-light powder conditions, the skiing and snowboarding just doesn't get any better. There are a number of opportunities to ski/board from Fernie Alpine Resort, to wild backcountry skiing accessible by snowcat. Fernie Alpine Resort The ski hill enjoys an average snowfall of 29ft! The beauty of the mountain range is rivalled only by your ability to cover an impressive amount of terrain from the lifts. Over 2500 acres are accessible from 10 lifts (including 2 express quads). The base of the ski hill is at 3500ft (1068m) elevation and extends 2811ft (857m) in runs. There are 106 trails covering 5 bowls and tree-runs. Is your mouth watering yet? Folks with any skill level can ski/board Fernie. 30% of the runs are for beginners, 40% for intermediate ability and 30% advanced. You'll certainly be able to challenge yourself! British Columbia freshwater fishing has historically heralded the Kamloops region for phenomenal fishing. While the crowds have flocked to Central BC, Fernie has been secretly enjoying trout fishing that rivals anything Montana has to offer! Presently, the Elk River that runs through downtown Fernie is attracting increasing interest among the flyfishing crowd. The energetic Westslope Cutthroat trout is the catch of the day with some fantastic dryfly action. The salmonfly hatch in the spring kicks off the season June 15 when the river opens. Generous caddis and mayfly hatches occur throughout the summer to the famous 'hopper' action in the fall. There are plenty of rivers and lakes closeby that hold trophy rainbow, brook, bull, dolly varden, sturgeon, whitefish and grayling with little fishing pressure. More well-known are the St. Mary River system in Kimberley and the Crowsnest River just across the Alberta border. Professional guides are available to help you make the most of your fishing trip. Check our packages and call us to arrange your fishing adventure today. Golf reservations can be made through Alpine Lodge. Just let us know your preferred tee times and leave the rest to us. Both Canada Cup and BC Cup races are held on the mountain in Fernie. Need we say more?
