Simpson's Num-Ti-Jah Lodge Description:
Simpson's Num-ti-jah Lodge is located on Bow Lake in the Canadian Rocky Mountains near Lake Louise, Alberta. Num-Ti-Jah lodge is a Canadian Rockies accommodation in Banff National Park.

Additional Information:
When Jimmy Simpson, founder of Num-Ti-Jah Lodge, first came upon Bow Lake in 1898, he described it as the most beautiful thing he'd seen in Canada. For more than eighty years thousands of guests, visitors and artists have agreed with his words.

Num-Ti-Jah Lodge overlooks one of the most dramatic scenes in the Canadian Rockies. Out of Bow Lake the mountains rise steep and rugged. The blue ice of Crowfoot Glacier hangs suspended over the turquoise water. To the west, the craggy peaks of the Great Divide tower over Bow Glacier.

Num-Ti-Jah Lodge is located 40 kilometres north of Lake Louise on Highway 93 in Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada. We are a three hour drive from the Calgary International Airport.

In today's modern world, there are still only a few basics that we all need at the end of the day: shelter for the night, a hearty meal, and a warm bed. At Num-Ti-Jah Lodge we believe in the simple life. We have 25 rustic rooms to stretch out in, hot showers any time, thick duvets to crawl under, and no phones or TV in the room to interrupt your thoughts.

Activities:
Winter At Num-Ti-Jah Lodge, winter is our favorite season. The air is quiet, the skies are blue, and the snow is deep and untouched. Highway 93 is plowed for easy travel to reach us. The couches around the fireplaces invite you to linger. Our chef is ready with buffet breakfasts and three-course dinners. After the evening meal, our guests relax with a book, a sketch pad, or a deck of cards in the Library. Our fireplaces are lit. Come, we invite you to our hearth. Snowshoeing and Skiing To appreciate the quiet of mountain life we encourage our guests to explore on cross-country skis or snowshoes. You'll probably see white ptarmigans half-hidden in the snow or the tracks of hares and coyotes in the forest. If downhill skiing is your passion, Lake Louise is only half an hour away. For back-country enthusiasts, the trail to Bow Hut and glacial touring begins here. And for those who demand untracked snow for telemarking, take your pick of slopes. The Christmas Season A remote lodge in the Canadian Rockies. Roaring fireplaces. Warm duvet on the bed. Pristine snow. Star-filled skies. A full moon. Need we say more? Our Christmas rates range from $ 125 to $ 190 per night based on double occupancy. Summer When Bow Lake thaws in June, summer arrives like a gift. The sun melts the snow-capped peaks and waterfalls flow again. The creeks run fast through the meadows. Lake trout begin to bite. To the woods the bluebirds, robins and hummingbirds return to nest. Deep in the quiet valley, bears, moose, mountain goats, and mule deer roam undisturbed. During the long summer days our guests hike far into the mountains and back for the night. An easy walk along the glacial blue lake reveals rare alpine flowers, evergreen forests and sparkling creeks. This much beauty can fill up your day and your soul. Summer Activities: Hiking The mountains surrounding Bow Lake offer many levels of hiking trails for the beginner and experienced hiker. Many of our suggested trails are perfect for families with small children. Fishing Bow Lake is home to many varieties of Lake Trout including Dolly Varden and Bull Trout. National Park fishing licenses are available from our front desk.
