The Newest Country Inn in the Canmore / Banff area, with Bed and Breakfast style hospitality is located at the base of Lady McDonald mountain in Canmore, Alberta, and offers Luxurious Accommodation. It is the perfect place to begin your exploration of beautiful countryside.

Bear and Bison Canadian Country Inn has been designed by the owners Lonny & Fiona Middleton for the discerning guest who enjoys being pampered in comfortable, relaxing and luxurious surroundings. The Bed & Breakfast style hospitality and World Class inn, restaurant, service and amenities are magical ingredients combined to produce an ideal destination for romantic getaways, and honeymoons, intimate elopement weddings, skiing & winter getaways, management retreat, family reunions, and a base to start & finish your week long exploration of the Canadian Rockies Provincial & National Parks.

In addition to the Inn being a fantastic base for your vacation we are a 1st Class culinary experience. Our Bed and Breakfast Inn provides unique dining facilities for groups wanting exclusive use for intimate weddings, conferences, activity retreats and family gatherings for up to 24 adults.

We have 9 guest rooms designed to offer you a range of uniquely styled rooms. Each room has a king size four poster bed, fireplace, whirlpool bathtub, private balcony or patio and amazing views of the 6 mountain ranges surrounding Canmore Town.

You can pamper yourself with in-room spa services and relax in the outdoor Hot Spring Therapeutic Spa Hot Tub in the garden. Our complimentary cocktail hour, offered during the Summer months, will enable you to orientate yourself with all the facilities and give you a chance to meet the owners and your fellow guests.

On our doorstep is Banff National Park, Kananaskis Country, Lake Louise, Columbian Icefields, wildlife tours, world class golf, fishing charters, breathtaking hiking and climbing, cross country ski, downhill and heli-skiing and snowboarding, dog-sledding, world class mountain biking trails, alpine wildflower meadows, the list is endless. To add to the excitement, a short drive will take you to the famous Tyrrell Museum and Dinosaur Provincial Park, Calgary for the Stampede, Lake Louise, Jasper Park, Kootenay Park, Radium Hot Springs, Invermere’s beaches and many, many more attractions.

Rooms 1, 2 & 3
Offering the brightest rooms with floor to ceiling windows and awesome views from the highest point of our Inn. Vaulted ceilings and canopied four poster beds with hand designed covers and lace mantels add to the romance of these rooms.

The walls have been toned to enhance the bright sunshine of the captivating rocky mountains. During the warmth of summer months the fireplace is filled with fresh flowers to compliment those overflowing on your private balcony. An in-room corner whirlpool bath lets you soak amongst candles whilst feeling the breeze enter from the large glass patio doors.

Room 3 ~ an extra special room with the Jacuzzi tub looking on to Grotto mountain whilst your balcony has vistas of the Three Sisters mountain range. This is our favourite room and is the perfect spot for couples wanting that extra special romantic getaway.

Rooms 4, 5 & 6
To capture the Canadian History and Canmore’s Heritage, Fiona & Lonny have travelled the length and breadth of Alberta to find interesting Canadiana furniture to add warmth to these beautifully rich rooms.

Hand-crafted four poster beds are carved with Alberta’s wild roses, and the chiropractic mattresses, new goose down duvet and crisp white cotton linens will help you drift into the old fashioned Canadian style and comfort you thought had long since disappeared.

Pictures of Canmore’s mining heritage adorn the evergreen coloured walls in these rooms. As you sit by the fireplace or on your balcony gazing at the majestic mountains you can try, if you are able, to imagine old Canmore with so few facilities whilst soaking in the luxurious amenities of your guest room.

A corner whirlpool bathtub and the close proximity of the lounge and dining room make these rooms a true home from home experience.

Rooms 4 & 5 ~ are wheelchair accessible.

Rooms 7, 8, 9
These beautifully decorated rooms reflect the healthy lifestyle of the mountain loving Canadian. Glass patio doors let in sunshine and lead out to your private patio to enjoy the garden and panoramic mountain view.

These rooms adjoin the cedar laid changing room and outdoor Hot Spring Spa Therapeutic Hot tub with its 31 massage jets. With the close proximity of the Hot tub and your private in-room jacuzzi tub you have the perfect spot to enjoy true Canadian mountain living.

A hand carved four poster bed, fire place filled with fresh flowers during the hot summer months and burning logs in the winter, plus pictures and memorabilia of the energetic Canadian skiers, hikers, climbers and cyclists help maintain the fresh healthy theme of these rooms.

Room 7: As the pictures show, this room has everything... comfy sofa to view the mountain from inside, outdoor patio, beautiful jacuzzi tub set in slate tiles, ensuite shower room and the best positioning for using the outdoor Hot Tub Spa.

Room 8: Similar to Room 7 with the exception that this room is the only one at the Inn without the in-room jacuzzi tub, which gives a little more floor space. Instead of the tub there is an ensuite shower room. If you are travelling with small children there is a sofa bed which can sleep two.

Amenities:

All our guest rooms have been designed and decorated with an equal degree of quality, comfort and warmth. Each room has a hand crafted king sized four poster bed with new goose down duvets, crisp cotton linens and chiropractic mattresses.
A private balcony with panoramic mountain views from east to west, a corner whirlpool bathtub and fireplace within your bedroom make for luxurious surroundings. Lonny and Fiona have added their individual touches to each room in the house to create several uniquely decorated rooms which anticipate your needs and enjoyment.

We provide you with an in-room television, luggage rack, hairdryer and umbrella. A coffee/tea service is set up in your room on arrival.
Cozy bathrobes await your use when testing the outdoor Hot Springs Spa Therapeutic Hot tub (as installed at the White House by W.Clinton...), the hot tub boasts 31 massage jets to soothe your cares away. A great way to enjoy the stars on cold winter nights !

Try their training ground and the hundreds of groomed trails. An absolute “Must do” if you are visiting during the winter months. Watch the Disney Movie “Snow Dogs”; it was filmed here in Canmore during 2001 and the star dogs that you see will be part of the team that will pull you on an unforgettable adventure. Well trained dogs and their leaders teach you all you need to know to experience first hand the joy of traveling ground level through powder snow the way the first Canadian travelers saw the snow bound lands. Lonny & Fiona never miss a Sled ride on Boxing Day afternoon, it is fast becoming a family tradition.
