Brewster's Shadow Lake Lodge in Banff National Par Description: Shadow Lake Lodge is a remote back country lodge accessible only by hiking or cross-country skiing, and offers cabin accommodations and backcountry lodging Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada.Additional Information: Situated in the high alpine meadows of Banff National Park, Brewster's Shadow Lake Lodge is a remote back country lodge with cabins, accessible only by hiking or cross-country skiing. Well established trails lead through vast meadows to mountain passes and down to adjoining valleys. Your alpine adventure at Brewster's Shadow Lake Lodge will provide you with a rare holiday in a unique National Park Lodge. We promise exemplary service and individual attention in the splendour of the Canadian Rockies backcountry. Advance reservations are required. Winter At The Lodge In the Winter, guests can ski or snowshoe to access Shadow Lake lodge from the Red Earth Creek trail head on a track set trail that is rated by Parks Canada as easy to moderate. Once at the lodge there are a variety of cross country routes leading to adjoining valleys and beneath the breath taking Mt. Ball at the far end of Shadow Lake. At present, Brewsters Shadow Lake Lodge provides seasonal accommodation for cross-country skiers or hikers with licensed dining and afternoon teas. The 12 log cabin accommodations are propane heated and feature cozy down feather duvets.The newly restored Shadow Lake cabin boasts a wood burning fireplace. Summer At The Lodge The most commonly used trail at the Lodge is via Red Earth Creek, just 12 miles west of Banff. Upon arrival, all guests are served hot tea, juice and home made sweets and savory baked goods. All of our gourmet meals are served buffet style. All of our breads/desserts are made fresh daily. Lunch is a build your own buffet with fresh breads, cheese, deli meats, goodies and trail mix; set out after a hearty gourmet breakfast which leaves the rest of the day to hike the high mountain passes and alpine hikes looking for beautiful alpine flowers or just to relax on your own porch and savor the 360 o view of incredible vistas. After a day of hiking you can relax in the historic Shadow Lake Lodge cabin cica 1928 by the warmth of the wood burning fire place. Surrounding the historic cabin are 12 private log cabins which can accommodate up to 32 guests, propane heated and feature cozy feather duvets, towels and wash basins. There is no electricity or running water, warm water is brought to your cabin in the morning and is available all day long. There are 5 different ways to access Shadow Lake Lodge in the summer time.
