The Royal Canadian Pacific is a vintage
train service operated by Calgary-based Canadian Pacific Railway. The train
consists of historic rail cars built in the early 1900s and powered by up to
three 1,750-horsepower locomotives built by General Motors in the 1950s. The
unique executive class rail cars have be recently refurbished to meet current
standards for luxury travel.
The Royal
Canadian Pacific is undoubtedly the most elegant train in Canada, if not North
America. Limited to 32 passengers, everyone is pampered as you explore the
mighty Canadian Rockies by train.

The signature
Royal Canadian Pacific journey is the Royal Canadian Pacific Rockies
Experience, a six-day/five-night, 1,050 km (650 mi) loop starting from
Calgary, Alberta. The train travels through Banff
National Park in the Canadian Rockies, then through the
Columbia River Valley and back to Calgary via the
Crowsnest Pass and Lethbridge. Our specialized
tour packages include, fly-fishing, golfing, hoseback trail riding and culinary
tours.

The Royal Canadian Pacific
route follows the historic CPR line that was completed in 1885 to form Canada's
first transcontinental railway. Construction of the CPR through the
rugged Canadian West was considered one of the greatest
engineering feats of that period. The Royal Canadian Pacific travels on some of
the most spectacular railway in the world, including the famous Mount Ogden
spiral tunnel.
Guests enjoy
world-class catering on board the train. Chefs use only the
freshest local ingredients, prepared to superior standards. Meals are served in
elegant dining cars with white glove service. Special dietary needs can be
accommodated.

The service began in June
2000 and runs each season from May to November.
