Getting to Steamboat Springs, Colorado

Getting to Steamboat couldn’t be easier this winter as Steamboat’s Air Program grows to include expanded daily service from Newark and the addition of a larger aircraft on the Houston weekend route. Convenient nonstop jet service is offered from Chicago and Dallas on American Airlines, Denver on United Airlines, Houston and Newark/NYC on Continental Airlines and Minneapolis on Northwest Airlines for the 2002/2003 season. Additional one-stop connection service is available from more than one hundred other domestic and international cities. All service is direct into Hayden (HDN), just 22 miles/35kms from the ski area.

"When you combine all the elements an air traveler considers -- variety of carriers, points of origin, nonstop travel plus convenient connections, the resort airport’s lack of diversions and proximity to the resort into one factor, Steamboat is quite literally the most conveniently accessed destination ski resort in the Rocky Mountains," said Andy Wirth, vice president of marketing for Steamboat.

By Car:
Steamboat is in Northwest Colorado, located 157 miles/253 kms northwest of Denver, Steamboat is an easy 3-hour drive. Take I-70 west through the Eisenhower Tunnel to the Silverthorne exit, (#205), and then go north on Colorado Highway 9 to Kremmling, then west on US 40 to Steamboat.

Don't hesitate to drive from Denver, there is some beautiful scenery along the way.  Once you go through Rabbit Ears Pass...you're almost there.
