Travelers to Aspen/Snowmass have a myriad of options to the gateway of the perfect getaway vacation. Nestled in a remote valley, Aspen/Snowmass is one of the most accessible Rocky Mountain resorts via air. With nearly 150 nonstop and connecting flights weekly into Aspen/Snowmass, you can start from either coast and be here in half a day, give or take.
By Car
From Denver, Aspen is 220 miles or approximately 3-1/2 hours via I-70 West to Glenwood Springs. Aspen is due east on Highway 82.
Another scenic route from Denver is I-70 West to 91 South through Leadville to 24 South, then west onto Highway 82 over Independence Pass. (The pass is open only during warm-weather months.)
From Grand Junction, Aspen is an easy 2-1/2 hour drive east on I-70 connecting with Highway 82 in Glenwood Springs.

By Plane
There is service into Sardy Field, Aspen, located three miles from downtown. Aspen is a half-hour flight from Denver International Airport via United Express, which offers at least 10 daily flights during the winter and summer months. United Express also offers daily nonstop jet service from Los Angeles and now San Francisco during the winter, as well. Northwest Airlines flies nonstop twice daily between Aspen and Minneapolis/St. Paul and once daily from Memphis in addition to extra weekend sections during the winter months. There is also service into Eagle County Regional Airport, located 70 miles from Aspen. American, Continental, Delta, Northwest, and United Express fly nonstop from 11 U.S. cities into Eagle.

Grand Junction's Walker Field (GJT)
Grand Junction's Walker Field is 125 miles from Aspen and Snowmass Village. Sky West -- The Delta Connection, America West Express/Mesa Airlines, and United Express offer alternatives to flying direct to Aspen/Sardy Field. Weekend charters from California, Florida and Texas are available.
Denver International Airport (DEN)
Located 220 miles from Aspen and Snowmass Village, DIA offers more than 400 daily flights into Denver from over 80 cities on 14 airlines, plus daily nonstop service from London/Gatwick on British Airways, Mexico City on Mexicana, and daily nonstop service from Frankfurt on Lufthansa.
Colorado Springs Airport (COS)
Located 270 miles from Aspen and Snowmass Village, Colorado Springs Airport is a workable option during the summer months. From mid-June through October, the drive from COS to Aspen/Snowmass is breathtaking via Colorado's most scenic drive -- Independence Pass. COS offers up to 70 daily flights from 25 cities on 10 different airlines. Remember, Independence Pass is closed during the winter season.
Getting Around Aspen
Hotels, shops and restaurants are within comfortable walking distance, and taxis, limos, and hotel courtesy vans provide service to and from the airport and around town. The Roaring Fork Transit Agency (RFTA) provides extensive bus service between Aspen and Snowmass, extending to other Roaring Fork Valley communities, including Basalt, El Jebel, Carbondale and Glenwood Springs.
