Culinary Discoveries

While recreationists discover nature's gems in the surrounding mountains, culinary enthusiasts can do some exploring of their own. Crested Butte has long been known for the exceptional dining inside its old false-fronted Victorian buildings. Stop in at the Crested Butte Brewery and you might have a beer with film star Tom Skerritt, the co-owner of this fine restaurant featuring his award-winning beers. Or sample more than 25 other eateries, featuring French, Mexican, Italian, Asian, Cajun, Old South and all-American "comfort food." This town is known as a culinary hot spot and quoted as having more fine restaurants per capita than any other town in America.

Just three miles from the historic town, the mountain village of Mt. Crested Butte offers its own world of fine lodging, dining, shopping and conference facilities. Guests can choose from a wide array of lodging options, including the Sheraton Crested Butte Resort (ranked among the "Top 25 North American Resorts" in Conde Nast Traveler's readers' ski poll) and numerous condominiums, inns and lodges.

This mountain town presides over a nature-made playground even Disney would envy – with endless fun and spectacular beauty. So, why don’t the locals leave during the summer? I think we answered the question for you….

For more information about Crested Butte's lodging, conference and meeting facilities, complete summer calendar, special packages, resort development opportunities, special events and skiing and snowboarding packages call Crested Butte Vacations at 800-544-8448.

Nighttime At Crested Butte

On-mountain Moonlight Atlas Snowshoe Tours are offered during full moon evenings in December, January and February. For groups or couples, don't miss the snowcat-pulled sleigh rides to a gourmet dinner @ 10,000 feet.

The new Ice Bar & Restaurant will feature evening entertainment and dinner with a torchlight parade back to the base area and a new ice bar.

The Snowdeck Park ("mini-terrain park") at the base of Keystone Lift will have Snowdeck rentals available until 8:00 p.m. and will be open to all skiers and riders. The park will feature 2 railslides, a box jump and quarter-pipe.

For the kids, we feature pizza parties and glo-stick parades.

Torchlight parades are an evening highlight on Christmas Eve along with a spectacular fireworks display on New Year's Eve.

Resort après-ski entertainment, DJs, and live music nightly at the new slopeside Hall of Fame Bar & Grill. Every night is a "theme" night with Fear Factor Monday's, Fat Tuesdays, Wipe-Out Wednesday's, Thirsty (Ladies Night) Thursday's, Hall of Fame Friday's, Saturday Night Fever and Happy Hour all day on Sunday's.
