KEYSTONE RESORT INCREASES OPERATIONAL BOUNDARY BY 577 ACRES AND UNVEILS KEYSTONE ADVENTURE TOURS
Keystone, Colo- February 3, 2004 – Chuck Tolton, Director of the Mountain Operations Group at Keystone Resort announced that US Forest Service has approved the addition of 577 acres, bringing the areas known as Erickson Bowl and Little Bowl inside the ski area boundary for snowcat skiing operations. The snowcat tours will be operated under Keystone Adventure Tours, and will begin operations within in the next few weeks.
"We are really excited to be able to offer a new product to our guests," said Tolton. “Keystone Adventure Tours is the perfect way to introduce the traditional resort skier to a controlled and guided backcountry experience, inside the boundary of our resort. Through our pilot program last year, we identified a large demand for an experience of this nature. By working with the community and the Forest Service, we are now able to fulfill that demand.”
Keystone Adventure Tours will operate two snowcats offering a variety of daily weather dependent tours including guided half-day ski tours in the new terrain, shuttles to Outback Ridge, Scenic Tours, and specialty programs.
