TOMMY TUNE JOINS ARTISTS FROM ACROSS THE NATION AT BEAVER CREEK ARTS FESTIVAL AUGUST 7-8, 2004

BEAVER CREEK, Colo.-July 22, 2004-Nine-time Tony Award winner and National Medal of Arts recipient Tommy Tune will display his artwork alongside more than 150 artists from across the nation at the 17th Annual Beaver Creek Arts Festival, Aug. 7-8, 2004.
 
This national art tour will feature paintings, mosaics, woodworking, ceramics, life-size sculptures, leather furniture, jewelry, photography and much more, with over 150 creators including Tune on-site to display, sell and discuss their pieces with festival-attendees.

"The Arts Festival is a great chance for families and friends to meet Tommy Tune and other top artists while enjoying fine artwork, live music and terrific food.  Festival-goers can also enjoy guided hikes on the mountain, a children's museum, scenic chair lift rides, horseback riding, mountain biking, mini golf, climbing wall, bungee trampoline, outdoor ice skating in the evenings and much more," said Tony O'Rourke, executive director of the Beaver Creek Resort Company.

This year's festival will feature over $15 million worth of fine art on display throughout Beaver Creek Village.  Browsers and customers will have the opportunity to meet the creators and ask questions or commission a unique piece. Local restaurants will serve food and drinks on the plaza throughout the weekend; participating restaurants include SaddleRidge, Zach's Cabin, Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort and Spa, Dusty Boot, Fiesta Jalisco, Beaver Creek Chophouse, Swiss Stubli, The Blue Moose and more. Outdoor concerts and Bon Appetit culinary demonstrations led by local chefs will entertain festival-goers throughout the weekend:

3:30 p.m.       Stephen Trojahn, Remington's at The Ritz Carlton, Bachelor Gulch, Bon Appetit culinary demonstration

Sunday, Aug. 8

11:30   a.m.            Thomas Gay, Beano's Cabin, Bon Appetit culinary demonstration

12 - 2 p.m.             Kathy Morrow Trio, live music   

12 - 2 p.m.             Aimee Bushong, live music

The Beaver Creek Arts Festival was recently rated one of the top 100 art festivals in the nation by Sunshine Magazine, the art industry's leading publication. "Being ranked in the top 100 out of more than 10,000 art festivals nationally is quite an honor," said Howard Alan, president of Howard Alan Events, Ltd, which produces the show along with more than 40 other high-caliber art shows nationally. "It speaks for the high level of quality artwork and excellent crowds the show attracts."

The Beaver Creek Arts Festival takes place from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 7-8.  Admission is free.
