VAIL, Colo.- June 7, 2004 – US Airways announced today that it will return to Vail for the 2004-2005 winter season, with Saturday service from both Charlotte, N.C., and Philadelphia from Dec. 18, 2004 through April 2, 2005.

Charlotte-Vail service will operate using 193-seat Boeing 757 aircraft. Flights will depart Charlotte each Saturday at 8:30 a.m., and will arrive in Vail at 10:30 a.m. Return flights will depart Vail at 11:40 a.m., and will arrive in Charlotte at 4:41 p.m.

Philadelphia-Vail service will operate each Saturday, also using Boeing 757 aircraft. Flights will depart Philadelphia at 9:45 a.m., and will arrive in Vail at 12:08 p.m. Return flights will depart Vail at 1:15 p.m., and will arrive in Philadelphia at 6:53 p.m.

“Our customers responded very enthusiastically to our Vail service this year, and the attractions of Vail and Beaver Creek were a tremendous draw,” said Andrew P. Nocella, US Airways vice president of network and revenue management.  “We were very pleased with the performance of these routes when we first flew them this winter, and look forward to another excellent season.”

“We are thrilled to have US Airways back for a second year of nonstop flights from Philadelphia and Charlotte,” said Chris Jarnot, vice president of marketing & sales for Vail Resorts.  “We saw great interest in the service from our East-Coast customers in the program’s first year, and with the service already loaded in June and a year of awareness under our belt, we expect that US Airways will carry even more destination guests to our resorts this season.”

Additionally, one-stop service to Vail/Eagle County Airport will be available from both cities Sunday through Friday each week through the US Airways-Unitedïƒą codeshare, providing customers with daily options.

Vail/Eagle County Airport is located approximately 35 minutes west of Vail and Beaver Creek, and about 75 minutes west of Keystone and Breckenridge.

US Airways is the nation’s seventh-largest airline, serving nearly 200 communities in the U.S., Canada, Europe, the Caribbean and Latin America. US Airways, US Airways Shuttle and the US Airways Express partner carriers operate over 3,300 flights per day.
