The Brighton Ski & Snowboard School

The Brighton Ski & Snowboard School, a member school of PSIA/AASI, offers something for everyone. Our well trained instructors provide adventure and excitement in a fun and supportive environment.  The following workshops are actually less expensive per day than buying a lift ticket!

The Adult Workshops
The adult workshop, a three week program offered in December and April, gives skiers and snowboarders an opportunity to improve their technique and learn something new.  Participants in this half day workshop receive a full day lift pass each lesson day, the same instructor each week, and a social following the last lesson.

The Senior Workshop
We love our seniors and for those seniors 50+ this is an excellent workshop that focuses on snow conditions, terrain, weather, physical conditioning, equipment needs and motivation as they relate to older skiers.  This is a three day workshop, offered in December and January, that includes a light brunch the first day, lift tickets, the same mature instructor each week, and a social following the last class.

The Telemark Workshop
Work on your back country skills in a non-threatening environment.  This is a three week program that helps free-heel skiers develop the original turn in various conditions. This workshop includes a light brunch the first morning of the workshop, the same instructor each day, a social following the last class and a full day lift ticket each lesson day.  Sessions are offered in December, January/February, and April.

The Women’s Workshop
Because of the demand for this workshop, classes are held several times throughout the year. The Women’s Workshop focuses on specific issues regarding equipment, motivation and physiology for Women. Brighton’s women instructors are trained to provide professional instruction in skill development for novice through advanced skiers. This workshop includes a light brunch the first morning of the class, a social following the last class and a full day lift pass each of the four lesson days.

Brighton's Ski & Snowboard School For Kids

Our children’s programs are designed to offer kids an exciting opportunity to learn about skiing/snowboarding.  Well trained and certified instructors help children not only focus on safety and fun but also to help them meet their goals of learning new skills and improving their ability on more challenging terrain in various conditions.

Kinderski/Young Rider
Our daily Kinderski/Young Rider program is for skiers/snowboarders of all ability levels age 4-7.  Our exciting program offers group lessons that allow your child to explore the mountain according to his or her own ability and comfort level.  Classes are limited to six or less for Kinderski and four or less for Young Rider, giving your child extra special attention that ensures an enjoyable day of skiing or snowboarding.  Kinderski/Young Rider classes are offered every day at 9:45am and 1:15pm.  There are several affordable options to choose from.

Kinderskister/Young Ridester (4-7)
These programs meet consecutive Saturdays or Sundays to help children master skiing or snowboarding through continuous practice.  Brighton’s Kinderskister/Young Ridester instructors are specially trained to make skiing/boarding safe and fun while teaching new skills.  Classes are limited to seven or fewer and children and are grouped by age and ability level.  Children from Kinderskisters/Young Ridesters are often recruited onto the Brighton Race Team.

Skister/Boardster (8-15)
This is Brighton’s oldest Ski or Snowboard School program.  Similar to our Kinderskister/Young Ridester program, Skister/Boardster offers an opportunity to older children to reach higher ability levels.  Children are grouped by age and skill level and classes are limited to ten students.  Children completing the Skister/Boardster program are often recruited to the Brighton Race Team or as Peer Instructors.

The Brighton Kinderski / Young Rider Program

The Brighton Ski & Snowboard School maintains a long standing tradition of superb instruction by some of the best PSIA/AASI certified instructors in Utah.  This tradition of excellence is evident today in Brighton's child focused Kinderski and Young Rider programs.

Kinderski/Young Rider gives children a great way to explore Brighton according to his or her own ability level.  Classes are limited to six or less for Kinderski and four or less for Young Rider in an effort to provide children with the extra special attention that ensures an enjoyable day of skiing or snowboarding.  Our Kinderski/Young Rider facility caters to children and their unique learning needs by offering child sized tables, chairs, restrooms, youthful decor and a mirrored wall for better dry land instruction.  Kinderski/Young Rider is appropriate for children age 4 - 7 at any ability level.

Brighton's Kinderski/Young Rider program is unique among other resorts in the way children progress in the program.  When children are placed in the Kinderski/Young Rider  program they learn to ski or snowboard.  Over 99 percent of the kids ride the lift the first day while 80 percent are able to ski by themselves!  Young Rider instructors, through our innovative technique and small class sizes, are able to get over 50 percent of young children snowboarding on their own within only 2-3 lessons!

All of the Kinderski/Young Rider instructors must be at intermediate adult teaching level before they are even eligible to teach Kinderski/Young Rider.  This means children come first in the program and kids realize how important they are.  Kinderski/Young Rider is so successful because of the self-esteem and confidence it builds in children, not because it offers a great substitute for daycare.

It’s because of our commitment to families and children, affordable pricing, and our great caring atmosphere that Brighton Ski & Snowboard School is "where Utah learns to ski and snowboard. . .and keeps on learning."
