Gondola Rides
The Steamboat Ski Area's eight-passenger Gondola will be open Friday, June 13 through Sunday, June 15, 2003, and then daily June 20 through August 24, 2003. Labor Day Weekend operations will begin Friday, August 29 – Monday, September 1, 2003. After Labor Day Weekend the Gondola will be open weekends only through September 21, 2003. Uphill operations are 10:00am - 4:00pm, with the last download at 4:30pm. On Sundays the gondola will open at 9:00am. Tickets are available at the Main Ticket Office or Ride Sports, open 9:00am - 5:00pm.
The Nature Den
The Nature Den, open daily, and located in foyer of Thunderhead at the top of the gondola, provides an interpretive environmental exhibit and information on the area with weekly special activities throughout the summer. The Nature Den will be staffed with an interpreter every Friday and Saturday from noon – 3 p.m.
Shopping
You’ll find everything you need for mountain biking at RideSports, open daily in Gondola Square, adjacent to the gondola entrance. RideSports features a wide variety logo wear, resort wear, and mountain accessories. Bike repair, beverages and snacks also available.
While you’re at the top of the Gondola, visit The Top Shop. Select a unique Steamboat souvenir or gift to commemorate your adventure. Other mountain essentials include sunscreen, sunglasses and film. Open daily.
Art on the Mountain
Artisans from around the state of Colorado will be presenting and selling art of various mediums in Gondola Square on the following weekends: July 4–6, July 26–27, August 9–10 and Sept 20. Other festivities include live music, food vendors, and activities for kids of all ages.
Natural Hot Springs and Water Slide
At the end of an active day, a relaxing soak in a natural hot springs mineral pool can be just what your sore muscles need. The hot springs in downtown or Strawberry Park are two of our many natural treasures. For those in the group who still crave excitement, the 350 foot Waterslide will get the adrenalin going!
